  1. Going fishing at balmoral in a few weeks. Could you guys please share some decent spots and what fish i could expect there. Thanks raiders
  2. That's the maximum amount of toxins we can consume without any major side effects. However, at levels higher than this (obviously varies across different people) side effects can occur, such as excessive fatigue or lethargy or maybe development issues in children who are still growing. however, these chemicals do not kill instantly so fish can swim around for quite a long period of time without dying but is probably ill in some way. also with some toxins, it will probably pass through the fish's system but with heavy metals such as lead, it will stay in the fish's (and also YOURS) body indefinitely. and also they have rules east/west of the bridge because they have to have a definite boundary where their recommendations exist but fish from that has lived at the west side of the bridge for its whole life can easily swim into the east side. so personally i would refrain from eating any fish in that region because i dont think it is worth it. The potential complications that could arise in the future far outweigh the enjoyment you get from eating your catch. But i digress, at the end of the day i guess its all up to you and no one can tell you what to do. hahaha Peace guys.
  3. hahah i guess i did but they wont like swim away from it will they?
  4. Hmmm so today i went to a department store to buy some leader. i was planning to buy some 10lb for dummer but they didnt any in stock and the lightest leader they had was 60lb, so i got some of that instead. So i was wondering if this is a big issue, or does it means that the drummer basically has no chance of escaping?
  5. The seas seem to be calm tomorrow but we'll be sure to take care.
  6. Hey i know this is a bit rushed but could someone please recommend some good drummer spots which are not too dangerous, as im going out fishing this sat with some of my mates. Thanks raiders
  7. I understand now. Thanks for your reply Geoff!
  8. thanks for your reply, so what you are saying is to separate the mushy bit from the hard bait, so essentially i get 2 pieces from one cunje. And btw im trying to go for drummer and maybe even the odd grouper.
  9. I've never caught a drummer before, but after what i've just read, im pretty keen on catching one or two myself hahha Could Luckyfil or anyone else please share some good drummer spots by maybe screen shotting google maps or something, i would greatly appreciate it
  10. Ahhhh thanks for all your replies! i just have one more question. With that red mass in the middle, do i just put it on my hook or do i cut it into smaller pieces? do i just simply hook it on or is there some special way of doing it. Thanks guys
  11. Do i need to wear gloves and is the outside hard or soft, because after some research i think ive seen them before. At some rocky places there were clumps of brown lumps the size of a 10 cent coin with a bit of red showing and when you step on them, they would squirt out some fluids. Is that it?
  12. Hey raiders, Ive been reading on the forums about how great cunje is for catching a variety of fish, but unfortunately im am quite of a noob. Could you guys please show me what im meant to be looking out for, how to put it on my hook, and any other tips and bits of information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  13. Hey raiders, In the next few days I will be heading off to The Entrance. I was hoping that you guys could suggest the best fishing locations and most productive forms of fishing. Ive been there recently and ive seen that there are spots (opposite the el lago camping resort) on the pathways where the council has build fishing rod holders and it seems like a really popular place. Is that a good place to fish? I also saw a place where i was able to rent a row boat near the el lago camping resort. Would it be a wise choice to rent a boat and what parts of The Entrance should i row the boat to for the best fish? As always, thanks guys aceace
  14. Hey guys, i was just wondering in any of you raiders could shed some light on where i could catch the biggest prawns, as i have noticed that the prawns at the entrance, on average after cooking them, shrink to about 5cm. So that made me wonder if there are any places that boast relatively large prawns. As always, thanks fellow raiders.
  15. well thanks guys. that clears up a few things cheers
  16. Hey guys, im relatively new to fishing and i have a few questions which i was hoping that you guys could answer for me. Firstly, is there anything wrong with using a 40lb braid line to catch like 2lb fish. Also whats is the point of using those leader things. Thanks
  17. ahhh seems like i need to hit the gym for a few months ahahaha. how would you recommend me to hook on the crabs? Thanks guys

  21. Hey Guys, Could you guys please recommend some good fishing places on the 7 mile beach. And what fish and size of those fish can i expect to catch there? Thanks
  22. Arent the fish and crabs that are caught in the harbour quite poisonous as they are filled with heavy metals due to the bioaccumulation?
  23. Hmmmm what type of fish are over there?
  24. Are there any outside of the sydney harbour area because i've heard that there is a serious case of bioaccumulation due to the homebush bay incident?
  25. Ahhh i've heard that its a good spot
