  1. Newcastle is not a bad place for spinning. Try Stockton breakwall best during first light. Swansea head rock platform is pretty good as well. Watch out for swell before get into Swansea head tho.
  2. Thanks everyone. It is an on-the-way-home fish. Decided to check out the rocks after catching nothing previously at the lake. Armed with ecogear prawn ,10lb leader 4lb braid 3-6kg rod 2500 symetre, hooked this girl on the 3rd cast!Gave me a big fight and I thought I would have lost it for sure. I slowly bring her on the surface and she's landed!
  3. Thanks. didn't have time to put up a report but was a big fight on a 4lb braid thought I won't have it!
  4. Hey everyone Need ur help to quickly id this fish whether it is edible?massive fight on a 4lb braid
  5. Thanks Tim, I have been told otherwise to give a little pause because bream don't attack a lure while it is moving. I guessed it will just be plenty of mark around until I get my first one!
  6. Great fish there. what kinda retrieval method you have used to catch these breams on atomic crank? I had the exact lure as yours but i can never catch them!
  7. I tried on those before. Apparently tailor loves it, and had a flattie hooked as well. I never catch a bream before with the crank. Any advise how to do it? They just seem very smart
  8. Good one. Never seems to get a good bream on plastics. I thought they are just too smart !
  9. rnowak, is closer to the Swansea area. Nick, thanks for that caught another 20 or so last night. bessell, will try to put them on barbecue tonight!
  10. They are all in my freezer now, looking into putting some of them in the harbor this week!
  11. Same jig, Yamashita 2.0 Pink squid jig, I have only 1 jig in my box. They seems to be working really well. Is not cheap to pay 20 bucks for a jig. But it totally worth it. You might need to travel down and do some jigging together!
  12. I just caught another 13 yesterday at same spot during dusk! beat other fishos standing next to me again lol
  13. Yes Shaun, I have got only 1 jig. Been using them more than a year. Guessed I have got my money back!
  14. Bobby, had 2 of them to go with dinner. Still thinking what to do with the rest, maybe to keep it as a bait, or maybe curry them? lol. For me is more like sharing and exchanging knowledge to people fishing next to me, well outfish them will be an extra
  15. Hi Everyone, First of all, happy new year. Have not got a chance to do any fishing until yesterday. Wind was too strong yesterday but it doesn't stop me from fishing Anyway, got 16 of them within an hour during dusk. Other fishos standing next to me had a go but to no avail. I guess type and color of the jig makes a different hey? I am using a Ymashita 2.0 Pink squid jig by the way. Have a good weekend guys

  19. It was just another usual saturday for me. After a week of hard work in Sydney decided to have another fish session at my usual spot. Oh ya, before I get started, went into one of the local tacke shops in Swansea. Haven't really tried a vibe before and decided to get one and give it a go. Got there around 4.30pm, started with some prawns and is really firing. Got heaps of tarwhine and pinkies but non of them are legal. After using all my baits. Switched to my newly bought vibe and decided to give it a go. Not sure if that really works because I haven got any of them on harbody( been using a crank but it wont work). Had around 60 casts and it still wont work at all. With no one around me using lure I wonder if that should be the way to go?? Anyway, still persisted as I thought that should be a way. With a slow retrieval technique I had a chop but it lasted only 3 seconds. Now I smell something and cast it on the same spot again. Suddenly and big bite and my braid it running!!! I know is something not I usually get it from as this could be something nice for me. As I retrieve it slowly and one other fisho standby with a net. When it comes close to the surface realised was a nice trevally! She just wont give up yet and went further down again! Had her on surface again and got her landed! Now I am a happy man. Measured 42cm it is my first fish on a vibe, first legal trevally and I guessed it will be a pb trevally for a while.
  20. It has been a long long time since I can make up my time with going fishing. Weather has been good on last Sunday and finally I got my chance to have a flick. Got up to Belmont jetty about 4pm. Tried flicking with lure for half an hour and no signs of biting at all. Decided to give it a good at Lucys Breakwall-Swansea. Went straight to the end of the breakwall and start flicking again. Tried different techniques and withink 10 mins bang got this nice flathead. This is not the biggest flathead of all raiders here but is only my second flathead on lure. Am quite happy that lure is really start working on my side. Any tips on getting bream on lure within these areas? Whereabouts is a good spot for flicking some plastics for bream ? What type of lure I can use for bream ? Thank you
  21. Nah wish I have a boat Leo, don't mind you bringing me out there if you going, haha
  22. Thanks, I had the z-man 3 inch minnow, with a 2-4kg rod 2500 reel, 6lb braid/10lb leader it seems I couldnt feel the tail moving, is there anything wrong with my set up?
  23. Luc, This will be very educational for me as well, would like to know more about this.
