Hi Raiders, Ever since I started to learn about sp's and lures, I haven't got anything at all except being successful in squid jigging. I wonder whether there is something wrong with my retrieve on sp or I have been to the wrong spot all the time. Is there anyone willing to guide me along or give me some hints where are the good spots for lures/sp exercise ? That will be greatly appreciated. I am even hoping for a tutor. Hope that I am not asking too much from everyone here, in fact, I learnt all my fishing skills through this website. Cheers Cal

Thanks Luc. I guess I am using the Rapala knot as you mentioned, it tends to work better, the only thing is the guy next to me had a small weight on my jig as well and said it works better and sinks faster, I forget how he actually attach the sinker together with a rapala knot, do you or any raiders have any idea how to do this? Good Morning Raiders, This topic might not interest everyone and I think i am nobody to brag in front of every experienced raiders here, however, would like to share some joy here. Went to my usual spot on the weekend 6pm, tried on my squid jig but to no avail. Met a guy down there who got a couple squids and was thinking if I should get some tutorial from him. As he is trying to give me some tips I have got this squid! Stoked! In fact I got 2 small ones on Saturday but this is my 3rd Squid in my life! On the other hand, I flick a sp trying to catch a flathead (which i never had in my life too ), tried prob 50 throws but i get nothing, was gonna give a couple more and decided to call it a day. Tried to reel it back and thought i got a snag again and I was like god damn it i dun wanna lost my jig head and sp.. but I was actually moving something back! Might be just weeds or other stupid things in the water but I got this big swimmers... I would like to thank Scratchie for his tips and guidance on my rods, reel and braid selection.. thanks Scratchie, fireline is not good, but simply bloody good... Calvin. -

That idiot hit my car panel on the driver side , extended all the way to the panel on top of driver side tyre. Is a brand new Lexus and sigh ! Guess bad luck and nothing more I could do . That flattie is around 1.2kg at 65cm mark. Yeah I will be careful with the size limits. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk -
Bought a 10ft rod with a Penn reel on Saturday, feeling excited and decided to go Avoca for rock fishing. Got there today around 3.30pm, went there and and swearing myself because of the swell and cant even get past to the rock platform. Gave up and we decided to head towards home and drop by Swansea. Got there finally around 5.30, started fishing with 2 other rods using live tube worms. Within minutes bang bang bang got off breams one another , and 2 small snappers as well. Started to think I should play something with my big rod. Had a ganged hook on with pilchard and cast. Thought I would be stupid to do so in Swansea but big BANG.! Landed my first ever Flathead.! Decided to stop around 9 and headed back to my car. Before started my engine found out that some idoits actually hit on my BRAND NEW CAR , I mean BRAND NEW, asked around the staffs if they have CCTV but hey, just being unlucky. I guess nothing is free in this world but certainly I won't forget today foe landing my first ever yet super expensive Flathead. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
