  5. Hi Raiders, Recently i have been concentrating all my efforts fishing the beach and rocks for absolutely zero success after 5 recent outings, Itching go for a fish today and conditions ruling out a beach or rock fish i decided to hit my local lagoon. Got everything ready then jumped in the car for the 5 minute drive. After my drive and gearing up the heavens decided to open up but this wasnt going to deter me after all i had my trusty rainjacket with me.. Starting wading around to my fav spot and fired out the first cast, a couple of jerks of the rod and a slow wind i felt some weight which at first i thought was a bit of debris until line starting peeling of my little sedona 2500, after a decent fight i soon had a nice sized flattie in my keeper net and for the record she went 62cm. Now usually i would release a flattie of this size being a female and all but because she had swallowed my 2 hook rig and it has been a long time between bringing a fish home she was kept. Also caught some nice sized bream, tailor, whiting which were all released. Got home and the Mrs's comment was "Now thats a fish". Happy days. Anway im going to try upload some pics for the first time with this post hopefully it works. Thanks for reading.

  14. Gday Sarge, I was out on the Lagoon on Sat arvo pedalling around on the Hobie, very quite session i must say. Thought all the rain would stir up the flatties, but all i managed was a couple of bream and tailor all undersized.. Had 1 really solid hit which took me by suprise, an enjoyable arvo anyway.
  15. Great flattie there mate , even better that you released that old gal..
  16. Gday nursie yep know about the prawns the local fishing club released them on behalf of fisheries, should be ready to collect now..

  18. Gday Raiders, Went for a fish on the kayak Saturday arvo at my usual spot, flicking white bait out onto the dropoff, almost a fish every cast. This time however i went home with a few keepers, 2 bream one at 27cm and the other at 30 cm then a nice flattie at 45cm. To tops things off i also caught a blue swimmer crab (a first for me) thought at first it was a bit of weed until i saw it,It let go off the bait but i managed to spoop it up in the net. So a very enjoyable arvo spent fishing , although my 2 mates i was with had the shits because they caught nothing.. Cant wait for next weekend!!! regards.. Ssalty
  19. Great to hear the Northern Beaches are firing.... Nice flatties
  20. Yes Mui Mui , that would of been me you spoke with on Saturday. Its typical to see all these out of area people come over here and rape and pillage the lagoon. The fisheries dept could make alot of money if they patrolled the lagoon one Sat or Sun. The thing is i cant remember the last time i saw a fisheries officer down this way.
  21. Gday Fellow Raiders, This is my first report and a rather short one at that. Went for a fish on the Hobie yesterday, plenty of bream caught about 15 in total no keepers though, although some were close on legal, also lost a nice flattie next to the kayak. Anchored up on the big sandbank at the back near Wimbledon Ave, flicking whitebait out onto the dropoff. Anyway a great way to spend a couple of hours (except for the idiot little buggers hooning around in their tinnies- its an 8 knott limit ya tossers).... Regards . Ssalty..
