Wicked flathead mate!! I've stayed Away from the bay in the colder weather!
Shows you gotta be in it to win it !
Good work
-
Nice work on the feed! Would have been beautiful out on the water in the sun!!
-
Wicked !! If not ulladulla harbour and out! Is that ramp any good at bendalong!?
If only the lake was completely open and the fish were on in there
-
Far out must be solid ! I shall hit YouTube now gotta see that!
For the amount of old fiberglass boats on the water I'd imagine that industry would be fair a busy one , having said that I wonder how many boats still cruise around with dodgy floors and transoms
-
Atleast you got out on the water mate! I'm heading down on a few weeks .. Mayyyy give towing the boat down a miss haha
-
There are a lot of good report on the web about these boats
I've always wondered If a transom or a Floor and stringers are gone if they are replaced are they fine again or is it a ticking time bomb?
I'll be on the hunt for a solid hull the whole way around
-
I saw a really nice looking Venus with a 90 on boat sales recently that just sold , there a nice looking boat!!
Yeah I have researched and a few say its a seafarer thing but all glass boat would rot if not looked after,
I'll be paying a lot of attention to those areas when I look at the boats

Hey guys
I currently have a 4.2 stessco tinny with a 30 and have been tossing up getting a bigger boat for protection against elements and handle conditions with plans to head outside a lot more ,
I've found a few seafarers for sale ( mainly looking at Vikings and vc around 5.0-5.5) but these are mid to late 80s aged hulls!!
What's everyone's opinion on there boat considering there ages .?? Or so long as there's no rot should it be fine?
Anyone handles these in advers conditions?
I plan to spend a few days looking more into a few of these boats and spending more time looking at the floor and transoms as I've read a lot about rotting in these areas.
Look forward to responses!
Cheers

Hey guys
All week I've been watching the weather all week and I had planned a trip out from the hacking into bate bay and drift for flatties! So thismorning I was up early planning to pull past macs bait bar around six then hit yowie bay ramp shortly after and I be off but I arrived at the bait shop at 545 and waited for him to open...... 645 ahhhh stuff it servo bait it is.
Anyways I get out In the bay and start a drift in 20 of water and not 2 mins later WACK 4 to 6 kg rod bent. And pulling hard run after run .. What is ?! A meter and a bit shark comes to the surface.. Not the flatties I was targeting ! I think a gummy?
Down goes a new set of baits and again it's barley hit the bottom and I pull up two flatties on my two hook set up.. Awesomeeeee! First flatty was 45 cm and the second 39 These were kept for my lunch when I get back.
For the next two hours I pulled in up to 15 flatties ranging from undersize 20 cm to 44 cm these all went back as I had caught my lunch already.
Awesome morning on the water and a great first trip outside!
Hopefully I can do it all again tomorrow ..
Cheers stanto

3 weeks ago it was open but not much at all there's a lot of sand build up on the lake side as usual
-
I was down at my van a few weeks back and went for a cruise on the boat,
The sand bar across from lakeside park was holding some good size flatties
One bloke said he saw two monsters!!. Then a westery blew up big time and I had to put the boat out.
Was a good 40 min on the water tho hah
Good luck!

My question can I get a suggestion on a rough area for fishing that's a little protected and some
Fish around, I'm not asking for anyone's spots or to be spoon fed just a point in the right direction pleasee looks like it may be a bit blowy!
