  1. Hi SNAP-ER, I have had one for a couple of years and can highly recommend it. I mainly fish for Snapper and have found it an essential tool for locating fish/bait. My results changed overnight and now wouldn't bother fishing without it. The majority of my fishing mates use either the 620/585 for various types of fishing such as targeting individual fish in 500 metres of water (1 kw) to finding snapper/Kings on the inshore grounds. All of them are of the same opinion as myself. Hope this helps
  2. Hey SZ, I am travelling to Perth with work soon and wanting to do some Samson jigging Can you provide any advise on which are the better charters etc? thanks, Simon
  3. These people carry out scale calibration if anyone is interested. www.wedderburn.com.au
  4. It is also worth a mention that the Water Police are available if you are stranded and are requiring a salvage further offshore where Sea Tow are restricted. I have had dealings with the Water Police through work and it is not uncommon for them to travel much further than the continental shelf to provide salvage to broken down vessels (mainly run down trawlers). They can be contacted via the Coastal Patrol.
  5. All the fish were taken on live slimy mackeral, included another picture to give you a better idea of the size.
  6. Spent a week in late feb up at South West Rocks, could only cross the bar on two of the days due to bad conditions. On the first day we spent the morning at Fish Rock where we didn't turn a reel, we then trolled to the FAD and returned to the jail grounds where we picked up a 20kg Cobia to finish off the day. On the second day we concentrated our efforts working bait schools at the jail grounds, this day we picked up two Blacks 30kg and 50kg. The second fish (50kg) was caught on a jig rod with a trinadad 16n which was a good way to see line leave a spool at speed. overall a great place for small boats to target a wide variety of game fish which in other places would have to travel miles offshore, can't wait to go back.
