  1. yeah your right mate not worth stressing over. I still like to let them know though haha. Well if anyone's around and needs a fishing buddy pm me too
  2. Haha that's right. Obviously a popular spot but there's plenty of room to spread out me thinks. Was it you I saw this morning?
  3. As I said the picture doesn't do it justice it was a lot closer than it looked and he parked his boat ontop of my line
  4. G'day guys, was out fishing local breakwall spinning this morning and a bloke parks his boat right where my lure was hitting and drops his anchor. I'd been up since the crack of dawn and looking at a donut and then that happened. I put my arms up and said what are you doing you can go anywhere and you park right in front of me. He said "fair enough" and had another cast without moving. As I love fishing I don't mind being out all day and catching nothing, but that really put me in a bad mood and ruined my morning. Had me thinking of all the times people either take your spot when your at the tackle bag or come right next to you when there is plenty of other room. Is it just me being a prude or does this grind anyone else's gears? And what have you done to stop it from happening/ what do you say? The guy was right within my casting range the photo doesn't really do it justice but he literally pulled up where my lures were hitting and definitely saw me and my lures . Cheers mick
  5. If you bleed it asap and cook when you get back home it's the best. Never had better fish than fresh bonny
  6. Also if you guys ever have room for one more let me know haha I've been chasing them for ages and still haven't got a king yet
  7. What type of jigs/ bait you guys use? And retrieve?
  8. Is it worth setting up a berley trail or go hunting for debris first
  9. Hey guys, never really targeted mahi or any other Pelagics and would love it give it a go. Leaving from pittwater on the weekend and would like to know some suggestions on where to go? I think the closest fad there is missing so not too sure what would be the best options . Any help would be appreciated
  10. Too good mate that's great
  11. Pittwater, everything seems to be in there and not much of the big boats/traffic to watch the wake coming at you that you would see in the harbour or middle harbour
  12. Sorry mate happens sometimes, but from my squiding experience usually one colour is more favourable at a certain spot, but if you see them chase and grab/ not grab the wrong end of the lure change type of retrieve. If that doesn't work change size and or color. Always keep changing and keep them guessing if it gets quiet .
  13. Good suggestion but don't think I'd be confident on the kayak out there, got a couple of snapper today no kings . Have to wait for the boat to get fixed for next time!
  14. I'm going to clontarf so was thinking around the bridge or up opposite clontarf beach where it gets deeper
  15. Hey fishos, been chasing kingies off my kayak for a long time now and still no luck. caught a few squid last night and froze to use tomorrow morning on the troll and was wondering what is better, to hook them up whole or squid strips? I'm heading out first light and just can't seem to get a kingie, even a rat and I'd be happy as Larry. I'm using sliding snell knot with barrell singer and about a 700mm leader. Any tips would be great. Cheers mick
  16. I've done mine through the skupper hole with a bit of conduit and a screw holding it in. No holes in the yak and gets perfect reading, just need to be wary sometimes if you pull up on a boat ramp or steps that it doesn't get ripped off. I tried the whole through hull but could never get it working properly

    Kingies

There any reports of kingies picking up? I heard they've only been eating live squid so far. Especially in pittwater
  19. I laughed really hard... Then I realised that's completely me and I'm useless haha
  20. I've given squiding a go in pittwater a few times and never had any luck. Just around moorings first thing in the mornings no rain or wind either. Any helpfull tips? I've caught plenty in the hawkesbury before just can't seem to crack pittwater yet hah
  21. That will give you another 10 years worth of patience I reckon! Awesome fish mate I've only caught a couple of little ones on the beach years ago and been chasing them since
  22. Oh mate! Must of been right near you guys, I was Downrigging the barges around 8 am too. We got up at 6 to west head to get slimeys and stayed out on the water until 4 today.. No luck today still chasing my first kingie but it makes me feel better that only squid were going off because that's the only thing we couldn't get haha
