Question, when I cast from the rocks for example I throw the line 10 - 20 meters inwards. How do I get the burly that far in, or does the big fish come out to shore?

Thanks mate. I will study this and see what else I need to know. I am not sure I understand the theory behind burly. Do you burly only from a boat? And should you cast exactly where you are burlying? Or it's something to attract fish to the general area?

Question for you if I am getting small bites what should I do? Strike or wait until I feel something is on? Sometime the fish take the lot of the hook, or I strike and nothing is one and no bites after

How do I work out what the bottom is like? What should I look for? And how does that changes things. Also I do not mind shore fishing at all. Anything goes at this stage as long as I get a fish.

Oh yea, my current tactic is a running sinker, swivel, an arm length leader and hook. Stop at a random location and cast. And wait.
