Thanks for the advice. I had a bit of thinking of the style of fishing I do and I think I am settling on a bait runner 4000, I would match it to my old 6-8 snapper Rod. Probably with 8 or 10lb braid. I didn't really get a chance to do much sp flicking as I was hoping. I can always get another set later on.
I was stupid and trusted someone to pack the gear right while we were leaving the boat ramp. I get home and my best rod and reel are gone.
My original was a shimano 2500 stratic reel and a tk3g ultra light rod.
What would you recommend to replace them? Probably in the 100-200 range.
Ps if anyone found a Rod at Botany Bay ramp send me a pm.
Well. I have 2 rods. ( too many, I know [emoji28]). One is a light rod 2-4 kg with 8lb braid and 2500 reel and the other is 8kg snapper rod with a 4000k reel and 20lb mono.
My current plan is to use the light outfit to flick some SP or drift some bait from an anchored boat. Meanwhile I use the heavier outfit with a circle hook and either live bait ( if I can find it [emoji28]) or a big piece of pilchard And try to catch some big fish.
What I am trying to work out is the finer details what sort of rig would work? Should I go braid on both rods? Would SP work for a stationary boat? Etc. it's more me putting it out there to get some ideas. I am going to give it a shot anyways and see what happen. But input is always welcome. How else would I learn
Yes please. I would love something like that. I would love something that cover the basics on how to read sounders. What to observe to work out feeding bait fish etc.
