You don't have to cook them to long they are better a touch under than over cooked. I normally cut a couple slots in the sides and rub the flavor in. Enjoy R&B

They make great sashimi and are really good grilled on the BBQ with a little olive oil and lemon. YUM.
I have found in the past that they are also great shark bait off the surf. Slab out one side and run close to the ground worth a big octopus hook. The occasional jewie fall for them as well

Great report and we'll done on the feed of bream. Love them. Right up there with the flattie tails as awesome eating. Love the fish and chips at Watsons bay. R&B

Bad luck about the bust off, it pisses me off for weeks as well. Oh what could have been.
Sounds like an awesome day out with your dad. Can't get mine off the couch these days. I just want to take him out and kick his but fishing like he used to do to me. Never gave me any reprieve.
Terraglin never caught one. If they are like jewies would love to.

There was one guy fishing for luderick did not see much pulled in. Never tried for them myself but there is so much weed around should have give it a try one-day. If you ever feel like giving a lesson send me a message. R&B

Yeah it was a great day and the shoulder did alright. Actually today is the best it has been in ages. So may have to go again soon ?

Just a quick report.
Headed to the Northern Beaches for my first spin session in nearly two years. (Inspired by some of the great reports lately). I have had a shoulder injury so wanted to see how good a job the Physio has been doing.
Arrived just before 6 to see the platform full so squeezed my way in and said hello to the old faces and started casting.
Well that's all we did for the next 2 hrs not one hit not even a follow for any of us.
Changed tack and decided to see if i could get some bottom bashes even though it was the wrong tide. Grabbed some crabs and threw them into the wash. Apart from a couple throw backs it was a quiet day.
All in all it was a great morning out with a great sunrise, met a couple new faces and a little exercise. Who says fishing is not a sport i was buggered after. Home for a sleep on the couch and watch the cricket. ?

Garries are great fun. Over in Perth we used to use gents or a small piece of squid on a very small long shank. Have a small berley cage full of tuna soaked bread crumbs and slowly retrieve across the surface. When you hooked up they are poor man's Marlin loved it!!!
Used to fish in the same spot often and an older lady with the same process and a handline used to crush the rest of us at about 5-1. She was awesome.
