  1. Where abouts did you fish tackleberry. Your boat looks similar to my 420 busta which has now been upgraded to a 460. The extra width in the width in the beam is awesome. The 420 was perfect for two. But with three sons and a wife and daughter that come out from time to time the 460's build plate lets us carry 6. Try flicking SPs with six people in a tinny. 2. Thanks Mrs Swordfisherman, I have no idea where to find the settings you're referring to?
  3. Hi Swordfish, where is the soft plastics day held at and what time?
  4. Hi Swordfish, we've fished the island and mainly flick the edges of the lake around the reeds and overhanging trees. I've been looking at the sounder and stopping on the small dropoffs that we can find, with the vision of flicking into the depths and bringing the SP towards the shallows. There has to be more that we just don't know..
  5. Hi all, fished Chipping Norton Lakes Saturday arvo and from dawn to dusk on Saturday. Relatively new to SPs and have had limited success with a couple of nice flatties and bream, but no mater what plastic or spot in the lake, I couldn't get hold of a good fish this weekend. Anyone with any input on the area would be greatly appreciated. I take the kids there most weekends as it is close to home, but this weekend was testing to say the least. I know some days the fish are on the bite and others they're not, but we fished both tides today and what is supposed to be active times at dawn and dusk with a fairly dismal outcome. Anyway if you've got some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Nathan.
  6. Hi Nutty, I too fish the Georges with my two sons regularly, targeting flatties. Where abouts do you fish and could you let me know where to get the lures from.
  7. What type of soft plastics are you using? We were out today at Chipping Norton and had success with 100mm squidy wrigglers in bloodworm.
  8. Hi all, need some advice or opinions. Currently own a Quintrex 420 Busta. Often fish in the local river, venturing sometimes into the Bay and with either one or all of my three sons. The current boat is small and cramped with more than two of us in it, but "do-able" with all four, the most important thing is spending time with the kids. Have been out to look at possibly upgrading to a 460 Renegade or 469 Stacer Outlaw. Don't get much change out of $27000 - $33000 grand. I'm like most, mortgage, bills etc. I just don't know if I should stick with what I've got and be grateful, or push the financial controller to let me and her sons be a bit more comfortable ( and more in debt). Any advice, opinions would be appreciated, especailly from those that have been there before. Cheers, Nathan.
  9. Hi guys, thanks for the comments. Yes, it was caught at Como, just past the bridge. I take the tinny out most weekends for a bit of a fish with my sons. Usually on a Sunday. As soon as Monday rolls around they're talking about going again the next weekend.
  10. Newbie, first post. This whiting was caught on blood worms in the Georges River last weekend. I go out most Sundays with my sons and enjoy a bit of bait fishing and flicking SPs. Haven't invested in the brag mat yet, but this fish would have to be 40 plus. The misus still cant find her green hand towel that the young bloke borrowed for the tinny. The boys wanted the fish to be put in COTM. It was released after the photo.
