hi snook boy I'd prefer the alveys over the eggbeaters the alveys can handle more punishment theres nothing there for'm to go wrong .If it falls inthe sand or water it doesn't matter. I do alot of rock & beach fishing & thats all i use. Cheers Brett
  7. Mate all i do is i get a paper towel wipe the squid very dry i wrap each squid in a foil so it has no air ,then i place them in a air tight container, straight into the freezer & they stay very fresh & dont lose their colour . Cheers Brett
  8. Hi riceball, That "jewie secrets dvd" has excellent info it explains alot. Mate this is the best time of the year to chase them alot schoolies move around & big ones.Alot of rain gets them really fired up as well. As water temp cools down ,they are still around but i tend to concentrate in the back waters, you do catch them usual spots just have to be patient. cheers Brett
  9. Hi riceball, The info you got is correct , i use to chase them on landbased on either side of the tides. It depends as well on the location. Have you ever targeted them during the day can be productive, i mainly target them on a overcast day off the rocks & beach had success. For me the moon didnt matter.Baits have to be very fresh jews can be fussy at times. Theres a new dvd out at the moment it maybe worth to have alook its called Local Knowledge it has some info about jews . Hope this helps cheers Brett A
  10. howdy shark bait, I've caught squid in poor conditions as long as it didnt rain for days, they dont like the fresh. Just an idea carry a few different jigs in size and colours .Squid love the lights, every now & then change colours ,they go off the bite very easily.Hope this helps. Cheers Brett A
  11. The entrance of cowan river is much better to chase squid. Regards brett a
  12. white & pink have had alot of success, though i have caught on smoke pepper & fluro green. It all depends on the day
  13. The only thing i'd be changing if your using SP'S is a grafite rod that you can buy fairly cheap these days if you don't want to spend great deal of money. The lure works much better, than an ugly stick
