  1. Gday guys, Well i seem to catch more squid on clearer days, having said that i seem to catch larger squid in the rain. I know this does help answer your question too much, but just another angle to look at for the discussion. Cheers
  2. Gday again guys. TOM, ill be there this morning to toss a few sp's and then from about 3am wednesday mate. But please still pm me or get my number from robbie or shant and sms me. DAN, keep trying mate. As you can see there are plenty out there and they are killing small cubes of pilli, or a nice lightly weighted Sp such as a bass minnow in watermelon, or of all things a squidgie fish 50mm in killer tomates color. Keep trying mate as they are a buzz of a lil fish to get light lines into. Cheers P.s John you ok there mate ... lol
  3. If you go, come say hi... then we will know... Ali, good plan that mate... 2 kingies on the door would be sweet revenge. All i have to do now is stop using 4lb braid and i might keep them on... Talk soon mate. Ciao
  4. Nice catch there zenman, Karma karma karma my friend. If we do good things out fishing we get re-paid big time. Great end to a days fishing either way zen, got me all envious bro...lol Cheers
  5. Nice one netic. Im meant to go out tomorrow morning if this damn flu clears up. Hope i get into a few like you and the guys did to make it a nice day. Hope mallacootpete stays home as i dont want to be an extra in "the perfect storm" Did you have a blast Cr@zy john....? Cheers guys
  6. Guess i had it comming from my mates....lol They only get sat and sun morning to fish due to work commitments, where i get 4 days a week to fish and i do And this was payback seeing as they actually went out of there way just to show me the kingy knowing thats my kick in the a$$.... Tom, when u heading out there next bro... ? Cheers guys and have a great week to one and all.
  7. Gday John. Id gave to say Clifton gardens as well. Makes for a great day out there. My sons 6 1/2 and when fishing gets a little boring, theres the park, pool and a cafe there for somehthing to nibble on. Can also loose the hours hunting smaller fish for enjoyment off the wharf closer to the beach and on the side near the rocks. Keep him comming mate, future fisho's are made now i think. Good luck Marcus
  8. Gday fellow fisho's. Woke up this morning sick as all hell with the flu, so declined my mates offer to head out fishing for a day in bed of recovering. Get a buzz at the door around midday and what do u know, my mates hit me up with a bag full of watsons (9 in total) and a kingy size 68 model. Went with these mates on sat but the kingies just swimming around without taking anything. Think it all made me feel a little greener, not with sickness but with envy...lol Oh well, we've all been there before i think. Hope everyones weekend was better then mine. Cheers
  9. Nice one robeebee, Harder and harder to find the time to fish, but good to see it paying off for you mate. A few sp's and an hour to kill... what a way to do it. I do the same thing almost every morning for an hour or 2 after night shift.. Hope i can simulate your effort this morning on my way home past CG. Cheers
  10. Good catch Kit, Great to catch them on light set-ups. Love the sound of that running drag. Mates keep telling me i have to go heavier, but that fun of actually landing a fish like that on 6-8lb line is a buzz. Hope to see you on the water again soon mate. Cheers
  11. Yup, as mario said. Dead as a door nail. Spot X gets the big XXXX from me today...lol As every fisherman knows but we still know we go back time after time, thats the lure and the love we call fishing. Thx for joining me mario, sory didnt produce like yesterday mate. Ciao Marcus
  12. Yeah rob, was an awesome little day. All up i got 3 kingy runs... and i say runs due to the fact 2 almost spooled me and had to use my hand to help the drag... then twang... the the last was the best. Managed to hook ( of all things a yakka ) on an sp...lol... good news was as i held it in the water about 2 feet below the surface a kingy came up and BANG... on again. All i could do was look at the guys as it consistantly took line, and my little Sienna 1000 doesnt hold alot anyway... but sooooooo much fun. Also lost a big flattie due to the shakes and got nailed by what i think was a groper, but once locked in under the rock leads not much 4 lb brain with 8 lb leader can do huh.. Was awesome to get out with the guys for a day in spot X, and see then nailing some great fish. Cheers Marcus. P.s.. Bbenny, told ya to put that pike on ya hook.. he he...
  13. Hey hunt, how u going mate. Nice to finally be on here with some fellow fishnutz. When u down there next mate. Send me a pm when u go and i'll try my best to get down there as well..... oh wtf am i saying, i'll prob be there anyway, you know me. Say gday to your outlaw for me too please. Cheers Marcus
  14. Hi Guys, To tell its a watson as i think we all know it is by now raise the dorsal fin of its spine. You will find they are the only member on that family ( from memory ) that actually have a white spot or mark on it. Either way i have to agree with Clarkie, on light 4 ib braid and a flick stick they fight like tyson.. DIRTY.
  15. Agreed robbie, Cooler water means less kingies as they head out deep. Last winter the trevally went off down there, cant wait for it to happen again. Nice winters morning having a 2 kg trev smash ya up and teach you a lesson on the perils of light lines and oyster clad pylons... Oh and shant, im the guy who told you it was a frigate that day with the bite out of its side... nice to see you again mate. Ciao Marcus
