  1. Saw your boat out there, you weren't the only one chasing the elusive Jew. Murray (Stumpy) and I were there with livies and the sharks ate 50% of them. The best thing though was the thought in the back of the mind that always say's " Maybe this time" as we pray to the river god for just one Jew. Keep going as there is nothing better than to chase a dream and bring it to reality, and what more can be so relaxing and exciting at the same time, Fishing. JO
  2. Can just picture Grant planting it face first for the rod. There is nothing better than reading fishraider in the morning to start the day. Thanks for a great read. JO
  3. I am lucky that I can plead ignorance when it come to questions about fishing. I always say "Ask you father" You better watch him on the net, who knows he may find ebay and start puchasing fishing gear. How did you go with the "marg thingy" for your pictures.
  4. Mgibbo After the third hammer head, which this was Murray was a bit . Our livies were getting munch by sharks and the first photo didn't work so I made him pose again. rzep The sunrise unfortunatelly wasn't watch from the start. We slept in, so next time will have to set an alarm grantkingfish It was easy to get the hang of it back but after smelling Murray's and the kids fishy clothes it took me a while to want to get dirty, but once I did touch the bait and livies that was the end of me. Chris 55 Am looking forward to the Entrance. I was worried we wouldn't get in much fishing with three kids but we are taking a smaller boat so we can fish from all points of the boat with ease. I am still going to be selfish and let Murray deal with the kids and there lines. Hopefully I will catch something better than him, mind you our son has the biggest flat head so far in our family.
  5. So you met Marg, life will neve be the same. Have emailed you how to do "Marg thingy" with the photo's as noticed she was off line. Love reading about you and your kid. JO
  6. Her are some of Murray and thought you might like to see what it was like early morn no land in site and only the sun. 4WD, fishing and Camping show on this week. Call ME. Love JO Hopefully it worked this time.
  7. What a great fish, you didn't get anything. hehehehehehe. It is about time you bummed out. Love YA jo
  8. Love the video footage. But who needs mates though to call you a looser, when one gets of the line when you almost landed it. Great catch guys.
  9. It will be great to put faces to names and even better, fish. If the kids will let us.
  10. It is a sad state of afairs when you realize it has been over twenty years since your last proper fish. Yes, I have been as a family but as you all know the kids reel them in and you enjoy their thrill. Murray (AKA Stumpy) and I headed out Friday night. (see his post: Sydney Wide And Terrigal Fads, Your'e Bloody Joking!) Being from the country the only real fishing I had ever done was on the Murray river with my dad or trout fishing at Tumut (which I never mastered but still managed to catch). The main thing in common is you travel miles to the FADS or you walk for miles setting and checking night lines. So on Friday we set out to the bait grounds and I was just like the kids with Murray baiting the lines and me jumping for joy as I let Murray unhook the livies. Poor Murray still didn't fish. Finally the thrill hit me, I baited and unhoked my catch myself and figured we would both smell of fish and not just him. When we caught our livies and headed back to the river to set up for the night. Our first hit and Murray let me at it, poor bloke still had no chance of fishing as I was just like the kids. It was a Port Jackson shark. Never seen or felt one before and I was excited. Yes it was only little, but still I had finally landed a fish. So now the bug has hit me again and I am already thinking of leaving the kids at home and heading out again during the week. I am sure I can twist Murray's arm to take a day of work.
  11. Love the video commentry. Perhaps you better invest in a tripod. That way when you bring in you next big one that will need two hand on the job we can watch the video agian. JO
  12. Excellent photo's of the kids. Great to see families getting into fishing over the easter period. JO
  13. Great to see photo's of the kids getting in there as well. Great catch and what a thrill it must have been for him. An experience like this with your kids can not be beaten. Murray's Uncle said at our wedding " The family that fishes, together stays together." JO
  14. At least you got it back. Didn't know about this trip was looking for the report on you and Nick while Steve cleaned the car. JO
  15. Little does he realise that #1 daughter doesn't count the . We see the empties when we clean the boat Yet another excellent fish to eat and who can complain when you get the bed to your self and don't sleep squished. Love
  16. Your atistic ability in displaying your photo's always make me smile. Your a lucky little fisherlady and always catch something everytime you go out. Take me with you when the kids go back to school so we can brag together. Hope you enjoyed the fish. JO
  17. Love the story. It's a great read but Iam a bit like Dan, can not view the pics.
  18. Exccelent report but you left out the fact that we did catch fish big enough to keep. Bream and Squire, not what we wanted but big enought to keep.
