  1. Stumpy is away so I gave him a call. He fishes there and said to let you know that he will be there Friday Night. I will PM you his mobile so you can call him tonight if you like.
  2. What a great yarn that I am sure will become a whopper at the Pub. Your comment,"it wasn't a huge & dramatic life or death struggle I had been dreaming" funnily enough that is how I remember my first murray cod from fishing as a child. Thanks for brining back to life my childhood memories of fishing.
  3. Murray would tell you to tell her there is a sale on at Bar Point and you can only get there by boat. See if that works. I would say "the only way to get hooked on fishing is to get hooked". Take her to a trout/fish farm where you catch your own. Maybe that will give her the bug. It's better that fighting in the mall for a sale.
  4. I just weighed it cleaned, scaled and head removed it weight was 950gram
  5. What a day to go . Next to no one on the river, the water was as smooth as a baby's bum, the sun was out and I was with my good friend Marg (MGibbo). Within ten minutes we were at Bar Point and our lines were in with left over prawns from the last fish and I was on. Not being the best fisherperson around, I new it was a good size but had no idea what was on. Marg had the net ready and finally she yells "It's a jewie". She swoops it up for me and anyone who was on that river knew a woman had caught a fish. I let out a beauty of a and was jumping for joy as I had finally landed the elusive Jew and it was legal. My first fish to take home and show off to the family. So from there on in you would think it was going to be a hum dinger of a day. From a female point of view it was. But as a fisher woman it slowed down from there on in. We both wished we had a coldie on board but settled for water, muffins and sandwiches. Between the two of us we landed several other fish, (which MGibbo will have in her report as my memory isn't that good). After meeting Flightmanager I had his mobile no and left him a message about my Jew. He returned my call to have me yelling "She's on, Margie's on. Hang on a minute I need the net. It a flounder, it got away". At least I was able to say we're even for the squid she let go on me. My next legal fish was a 30cm bream I was wrapped. The family will be eating fish tonight for dinner and what a memory for our 14th wedding anniversary. Fish caught, gutted and cleaned by JO.
  6. Forgot to mention that we were one of those horrible fishermen who sat in their berly trail. I knew it would annoy the out of them.
  7. What's this Sunday due to winter sport? For those of who play the fine art of soccer, we woman have been pushed to Sunday games as men are more important and play Saturday. I do not wish to miss this one and no do my girls. I will be nice to have a comp on "even waters". As for the squid, gee I feel like some calamari rings
  8. So far the count is Stumpy and Flightmanager 0, ZIP, NOTHING, Nill, NONE MGibbo and Mrs Stumpy 40cm Jew fish(MGibbo), 1 large sqiud(Mrs Stumpy caught it MGibbo dropped it overboard after netting it ) and a lot of little bit and peices. See MGibbo fishing Report. Stumpy and Flightmanager headed of into the moonlight to Flint N Steel(??) for a try there. Someone caught a big Jewie whilst we were there but not sure how big. The whole of Juno Point cheered and clapped.
  9. Have you checked out the Foster social. It sounds like another great one to attend. I know it is a bit further to go but as Roberta said "Start earning browny point with the now." Even plan to stay an extra day or two so you can go sight seeing or just relax.
  10. What an amazing shot of my son Cam. I love it thanks JO
  11. Ross also took video footage. Any chance of combining the two. JO
  12. Hope you caught that cold fishing, at least then it was worth catching. Sorry none of us were there to say hello but when there is fish to be caught where would any good fishraider be?
  13. Am hoping for you teach us how to catch beach worms. You have a unique talent that amazed the kids. May see you at Foster.
  14. The kids has a ball. They don't take much to be kept keen. The little bream kept them fishing for hours. Best thing now is they all want to go fishing so that means I don't have to stay at home when Stumpy goes out for a trip.
  15. Many thanks to you and Donna for this great site,(and you merry team of helpers) other wise non off us would meat great people like you as well.
  16. Great to hear that you caught something in the end. So here is the obvious question, from a woman, where is the H & C.
  17. You can come with me Marg and leave the kids at home with the dads. We will stay with his parents and they will take us fishing. Excellent company and better than a five star motel. Air fair approx 200 return. Cheap fishing weekend. How bout it.
  18. What a way to meat interesting and new people. Join fishraiders and attend a social weekend. It has to be up there with the best of family weekends I have had in ages.I am so glad I can now put some face to names. FLIGHTMANAGER top effort to you and your team at organizing this event. I am sur everyone had a blast. Friday night :- Arrived to have my husband stolen and sent to bed at some ungodly hour of the morning full of grog and snoring. Thanks Ross and Paul. Saturday:- Finally got him to surface and went for a yummy breakie, thanks Ross and Pieta. We had our boat with us so we went for a cruise to watch the day go by and land nothing worth talking about. Decided to head to the beach with everyone else and what a great time. I was so proud of my two girls who stood forever waiting for the elusive fish to bite. As per usual we were in the wrong spot and only Murray landed one. Next thing you know Donna was rounding us up to get us into the hot spot to get the girls to land a fish. The sun went down and all were packing up and still no fish. My girls wanted to persist so we stayed with the few and at last Bec was on. A 48cm Taylor. Sunday:- Was pretty much well the same and had nothing to show by 11am. It didn’t dampen our spirits as we did get a lot of little ones, so of we go again. At 12.30 Jessie finally get a big hit and landed a big flattie, 45cm and did she beam. She even cleaned it with a little help from Ross. All in all an excellent weekend. Photo's Below Jessie The Beach The night pays off Jo catch, small I know Beckies Catch Cams Catch

The young man in the photos,(sorry I forgot your name) and two of his mates caught the train up for the fishing comp. 10 points for effort boys. The photo's of everyone fishing does not do it justice. There was approx a km of people fishing on Sat night. It was an awsome sight to see. Here are some more
  22. I apologize Ross for my husband, but whilst he is picking on you he leaves us alone.
  23. Murray and I got out on the first attempt at level one. The kids came and took over and Cam (No3 Kid) on his first attempt got to level 15 and 11029 points. Had to kick them off after an hour for lunch. Thanks for a new game to keep them entertained in the wet weather. I'll go read my book in peice. JO
