hello Mike. thats a great advice and will deifnitelyu look after it. I live in rockdale. fishing spots nearby me are all with breams, flatheads and other fishos. I am after the pelagics bonito will head up to bass point end of next month..i get bored fishing at the same place again n again..wanna try new land based rock fishing spot with such fishos

G'day raiders, There are raiders who have been fishing for yearssss..they are experienced and knowledgeable about fishing. If possibly, you guys can share land based fishing spot/locations will be great. I go fishing every now and then. I am currently going at bass point every week. I dont mind driving 2hrs from sydney. Info on spots for salmon, bonito, mekarel, kingie will be much helpful. Newaz

Yuh. mine was based on baits fishing. i got a shimano raider 701 snapper heavy 7' 4kg-7kg and use the shimano socorro sw 6000 (both are tremendously light) for lure fishing.

hey deekay, I am a beginner and got lots of suggestions from the experienced raiders over here. I would suggest you to go with a 5000 or 6000..you can use it for bread and butter and for kingies too..with high drag and ratio as well. serves both purpose. Go with a 4-7kg 7' rod for bread and butter fishing (lure spinning) heavy action but lighter and atlist 10' rod which you can use for beach fishing and rock fishing as well for long cast (try to get a bit lighter rod..spend a bit extra..but do get a lighter one).. it depends on ur budget. my budget wasn't that much.. I went with shimano Socorro sw 6000 $179-very light and daiwa bg 8500 $229 ( I should have got 6500..a bit lighter one).. go for a 30lb braid main line (all rounder-not low or too much). use a flouro as ur leader. I hope it helps!

I will check swell height before I leave.. else I will fish around kurnel rocks and beaches.. Just a silly question, with a high swell height, does the fish tends to go deeper in the ocean or doesn't matter.

just an hour back, swell height was around 2m moderate.. now its showing 2.9m rough..grrr.. I hope by 6am tomorrow, it drops down.. but still going and will give a try.. finger crossed.. stiil can cast from higher ground in bass point..thats what I like about the spot.. I am so unlucky..i fished there for days in a row..got a 2 kilo salmon only.. gone Tuesday..there were whole school of salmon and ppl got heaps..

True. I been there continuous 4days whole day in a row, got lucky on the 4th day with salmon. beside that everyone went empty handed. planning to go there this friday early morning, if no fish, will head back.

I find bass point best place to fish these fish,safe..in compare to coalcliff and hill 60.. as I am new to fishing, can you please tell me upto what swell height it is fishable, where the weather is alright?

while I was at bass point, a guy caught 1 bonito.. hell lot of mackerel, as a school of those was there, heard bonito will be around next month..

which app do u use..willyweather? can you suggest any places in wollongong or places close to it for such fish. Cant just stay home on days off, have to go out for fishing lol..you are helpful mate

I did fishing in bass point, and got salmon, mackerel, bonito Actually, me and mates planned for fishing at bass point coming friday, but the weather, wind swell aren't favourable. so will wait for it. Any suggestions will be helpful

Hello raiders, After some suggestion for fishing in bundeena bay, never fished there before. Heading there this friday early morning when the tide is at max. After tailor, bonito and salmon. Read few reviews about bonito out there, and even kingie. Any other spot for such fish will be helpful. Thanks in advance

Yup. land based. thanks Thanks greenhornet. I will be coming all the way from sydney to fish and will leave on the same day. I saw the clear water and thought it will be a great place for salmon, in that case it wont be worthwhile. will try out there some other time
