  1. Hi Bass, Just read your post and I am wondering whether have you ever caught something from the sand/shallows at darook park beach or only in the kayak? tks
  2. Well mate this is what has happened so far: catching flatheads only. However I'm keen to get other species specially Taylor and salmon but flatties keep bitting heaps!
  3. That's not indeed! Beginner's luck I guess considering that I got this flattie at the first attempt. Cool experience! Thanks mate! Fernando.
  4. Thanks mate. I'm gonna set up as you said. I have caught only flatties so far, I always use pillies. Hope a salmon comes soon!
  5. Hi folks, I have been tried to catch at Wanda Beach and other spots in Cronulla and just wondering whether my gear set up is suitable for this area: I am using a single 3/0 suicide hook and a metal pilchard lure (the suicide hook is at the bottom while the metal lure is at the top part) of a 40cm leader tied to a swivel and a sinker (150grams). I use small pieces of pillies through the suicide hook. Hope I can catch tailor/salmon. Yeah, it sounds pretty amateur but I am looking forward to moving on. Thanks! Fernando.
  6. Many thanks for all these pix. I am looking for seeing penguins in the wild and these tips are helpful.
  7. Hi mates, I am new to Cronulla and keen to enjoy some beach fishing. I've been watching many YouTube fishing videos and got fascinated by the Aussie salmon which seems possible to catch in the south shore. So I'm looking forward to finding some fellows. I'm available in the weekends and can travel, I can also arrange to do something in some weekdays. I don't have boat but willing to share fuel and to help with anything necessary. I'm up to catch other species in case there's any mate nearby. Cheers, Fernando.
  8. Hi Dave, I have just read these posts and wondering whether you are after some beach fishing companion as I live in Cronulla too. I'm not experienced but keen to enjoy it. Cheers, Fernando.
