Cheers kaniSS for the info. I have been thinking about drone casting for sometime as I'd seen feature videos before but hard to get info on!
Great to see you've had some adventure (although can be a hard hit at time!!) I'm gonna try & pray I don't burn a hole my pocket also!
Think the payload release is the key to the exercise, so want to examine to the options. Will look into the Gannet unit you'd suggested. I also see that you may be able to program the drone once you have a hook up, to return to a pad landing automatically. That allows you to concentrate on landing the catch
Am aware of the restrictions with drone in sydney & agree it is ridiculous!! I generally go south coast so I got some free space down there
Thanks guys & will update any findings
Cheers spalli
yeah my brother does it of the beach taking half bonito etc. out on a over head for sharks

Good stuff mate. good place the cenny coast 😉

Sharks arent so fussy when it comes to freshness of bait. Buy Bonito or mullet from the bait shop. 👍

After reading the 12MB report part 2 the lock out of 25 areas scares me. I don't think it is well thought out or at least it won't necessarily achieve what they think it might. I have been discussing it with a number of people and trying to put together well reasoned arguments against it. There is a FB page called "stop the lockout" which I have joined and the best summary I have seen so far is by a person called Royce (who I believe might also be a Fishraider member). It consisted of nine distinct points (including safety, emotional well-being and financial) to which I believe I can add at least two more.
I have put in a request to post under fishing chat with the administrators and hope to get some further ideas from other Raiders.
yeah i read that was good

Nice Plenty of salmon on the coast at the moment

6lb fluorocarbon leader or lighter should be tied from mainline
Personally I would go sinker, swivel, leader, red tube then hook

Cheers, i got some Squidgies Wriggler Soft Plastic. Gonna give that a shout around Hermit Bay just up from rose bay sydney, might also give it ago down in watsons bay.
Yeah the wrigglers are awesome
Good luck
-
Just get a shrimp, grub or fish style soft plastic.
In some sort of natural color i don't think specific color matters to much.
walk along foreshores casting as you go and concentrate your efforts on jetties, rockwalls moorings, dropoffs and weedbeds as has been said, any bit off structure really
another thing is check out if there are bait fish, prawns in the water and try to imitate them with a lure
if you are using grub or shrimp styles you'll encounter some good bycatch like bream
if you fishing around 1 -2metres of water 1/8 or 1/2th as has been said is the go
also they are expensive but soft vibes are great
also make sure you slow your retrieve down in winter
enjoy and good luck
