  1. Thought I would repost here, regarding the "Fishraider" Boat Decals .. Can one of the site owners PM me details, as to how I can get a hold of a few of these Fishraider Decals. Prefered colour would be "BLUE" . TIA Great_White
  2. Krispy ! fantastic effort on the Kingies !!! A big shame on the 1mtr pulling the hook. Just wish I could get that action down here ... I miss Sth Coast JB fishing ... Great_White
  3. Great "Spotties", if I am correct (poor southern fisher that I am) Would have been a HOOT indeed ... Green with envy .. Great_White
  4. leoantho Have a trawl online through "Cash Converters" you might be able to pick up an older model Shimano Saragosa or large BTR 'D", or even a newer model .... might even get a TiCa Talisman, Alan Hawk rated them up with 2013 Stellas !!! This could save you even more money, and give you extra to "decent braid / mono" You would be amazed at what you could pick up... and not trashed reels either , all nice and clean, and original boxes !! So, don't sell yourself short , small amount of decent homework, and you could be anywhere from $150-200 in front !! Don't always have to go to a tackle shop to buy fishing gear ... anyway, if the store is near you, go in and check it out. The savings, could even allow you to do a full drag washer replacement with Carbon Fibre washers.... Hope this gives you more options leoantho ... money these days is getting harder to save, let alone lash out on a "new reel" , sometimes 2nd hand is as good... Great_White
  5. Exactly , this was the "GO TO" lure of choice for me back in the 80's fishing JB ... even to the point where we would buy the preferred lure model in different patterns out of the "Cheap Box" and repaint with Red Heads and White Bodies !! As these red and whites would dissapear like hot cakes ... not only from the anglers in the shop, but huge green backs off the lower ledges around "Devils and the Eaves" ... for those that know JB fishing spots.... Cheers Great_White
  6. Try this recipe Mix formula, start with chicken fillets Buy them when they are out cheapest in your local store, finely mince the fillets and divide into 500 gm packs, vacuum seal the packs and freeze for when needed, make a fresh pack after 3 days fishing as it will not keep frozen for long term useage so here is the mix ratio : 500 gm chicken mince -- 20 ml fish oil -- 1 cove of garlic finely crushed -- 1 table spoon of vital wheat gluten flour -- 1 teaspoon of curry powder -- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder (Indian Herb) -- Mix these ingredients together then bind the mix with semolina, keep adding the semolina and needing until the gluten forms a mix that you can roll into a small ball that will mould to your hook, Do not make it to stiff as it should come of the hook on the first bite, this will keep the fish interested and also works as a controlled burley. The main secret is to get the mixture to the right consistencey. This mix can be used for mullet, tommies, bream, but have also caught snapper, trevally, yellowfin whiting, mackerel and the list goes on, you get the picture. Oh, and one more bit of advice, if there are a lot of sand crabs or puffers about, reduce the fish oil I can't wait to see the pictures of what all you guys / gals end up catching .. Enjoy Great_White This was passed down by an 80+ year old, and he swears by it .... so it is not MY recipe
  7. Wellzy94 yes, it was brilliant, and I guess nothing should have changed, except the crowds now. Nothing like having those platforms all to yourself , and being able to drive to at least the top of them all as well.. LBG Fishing was in its infancy, and boy... you learned quickly.... Great_White
