Thanks Huey, my boat is due for service anyway, so I will ask my service guy to do what you suggested and see what happen, only if you are close to my place I will have the service done there. Thanks again. Will let you know what comes up. Scout

Hi Raiders, I fitted a permatrim on my motor, expecting to make my boat plane a little quicker and stabilise it a bit and to my surprise it did but.. it also make my boat lean on the left and trimming could not fix it. Is anyone among you guys have experience same problem? can it be fix? or do I have to just take it off. By the way, my boat is 4m stacer with 40HP Evinrude. Appreciate all suggestions and advise. Scout
  4. Hi KingsRule, That's a beautiful and well engineered kayak, well done. That one deserves the highest mark in my book. Hey Raiders, maybe we should chip in and give this young KingsRule a start in his kayak manufacturing business, I think that would be a good investment as long as he doesn't spend all his time fishing. What do you reckon Raiders. Cheers, Scout
  5. Hi Domza, I just had one recently and I match with Shimano BB802 and I put a 6lb mono on it, beautiful pairing. I got the BB802 for $89. Scout
  6. Hi F4F, Went to your Spot X & Y this morning it was running out so I didn't stay at spot y (alexandra wharf, is that alright to call that spot y?). Went to spot x (gale st.) threw some unweighted pillie, I am getting nibbles but no takers, must be leather jackets, I couldn't throw under the jetty coz there is a tinny there and the rope is tied from the back of it to the shore and is parallel to the jetty. Damn must be my unlucky day. You are right I can see eddy forming in there and looks very promising. Did not stay long because the wind started howling and also the sun is right in my eyes looking the jetty. But as Arnold say "I'll be back". Thanks again F4F for your generosity, forever grateful. Scout I tried Gale St this morning around 10AM, good tide, running
  7. Gee Ross that scared the hell out of me. That is the real "Perfect Storm" and the good thing is you survived it. What a story that is. When is the book coming out? I have to get hold of that. Scout
  8. I am going to try that spot x and y F4F revealed. Thanks F4F for sharing. Scout
  9. Hi Ross, In times like this I normally suck up to the missus, repot her plants, replant them somewhere, whatever she wants, all I say yes dear, do some household chores for her... I even go shopping with her, and that I can tell you is a big, big sacrifice but the reward is great..more time fishing when the weather comes good ...works all the time..for me anyway. I don't know if it applies to you. Cheers, Scout
  10. Hi Nargse1, I have been fishing Clarkes Point for a while now, and this time of the year blackfish is the main menu. I heard from a friend that people been catching trevs, tailors and breams over there in the late afternoon. Just thought you might try the place. Good luck, Scout
  11. Great results there Roberta, lucky you have alternative for lack of weeds. I never realise conjie can be a good bait for blackies, because I only use them to catch drummer and sometime for bream. Always learn something everyday..thanks for that. Enjoy the smoked blackies... Cheers Scout
  12. You are right Davo, that is why I try not to throw my float too far away from the banks also I try not to have too much loop in the line (I'm not sure if that's the right term) while waiting for the downs. Definitely I won't be using this off the rocks. Scout PS. Couple of questions for you guys, I had 9 downs and I got 6 fish, is that a normal strike rate or I still have a lot to learn? Hook, I haven't had any success with RED hook, do you?
  13. Thanks Roberta, it's the fight that keeps me coming back for it. There are so little cabbage left at the wharf where I am getting it, I am just hoping it will grow back to have enough to last the season. As for cooking, I normally fillet them put some salt and leave in the fridge for 8 hrs to dehydrate (dry) and then fry with olive oil, but my wife who loves fish has some other way of cooking them which I don't want to know. One day I am going to try to smoke them. Scout
  14. Hi Raiders, After suffering from wdl syndrome, I was determine not to let this weekend pass by without wetting the line. Yesterday went to my local blackie ground, to my surprise the water is not that murky, it has still have some fresh water on it but not bad. (Thanks Roberta for telling me that blackie bites in murky water). To cut the long story short, I fished and managed to haul six blackies, 31 - 37 long. Nice christening for my birhtday pressie BB Elite 8' bream rod with 2500 Symetre, yes Raiders from now on I will use my bream rod for blackie in the Harbour, it's just so comfortable to use and so easy to net the fish especially if you are on your own. Thanks again Roberta for the tip. Scout
  15. Great catch there Dan, good sizes too. But I love the room looks big enough for a "men only" hang out.. a couple of lounge and a big screen tv, I can see a nice size fridge there for beers.. i wouldn't go inside the house anymore, except for dinner... hope I have one of that room. Enjoy the smoked taylor Dan, Scout
