37cm is a great whiting and the only improvement on your rig is having a leader and swivel so your sinker doesnt go straight down to your hook.
If you do put it straight to hook keep it small and put two small beads on after the sinker to protect the hook knot

Saturday evening it was decided that Sunday's charter was cancelled. The reports were all showing a 2.6m swell with high winds. It was then decided that I should meet a fellow Fishraider for some inland fishing. I know in Australia Carp are seen as a pest, but it was happy sight to see on a rainy day. A hair rig tied by the fellow Fishraider threaded with sweetcorn, size 6 hook. A small ball sinker with a weight stop a foot up the main line to set the hook on impact. Nothing beats the buzz of the baitrunner. Laughing hard in the picture, that we had made the right decision to hit the water regardless of the weather and disappointment of not going out on the charter.

Just pay it online mate. As for address maybe just put the place you're staying if it won't let you put an overseas address. For a short licence they won't send you a card any way. You will be sent the receipt via email and that is enough if you are checked

Manly Beach normally has a gutter or two worth fishing for sharks. Happy to go at weekend evenings deffo and week evening if not on call. Had some good success this year. Pm if you like

I'll give u a few back up suggestions in case if teeing up with someone is difficult. Don't know of too many people who chase huge sharks specifically in Sydney.
You might want to consider going with a charter for sharks if you want some seriously sized ones around Sydney. Plenty of 1-2m length bronzies from the beaches in summer which are easy enough to get onto but the really big 3m plus may need a bit more specific tackle, gear and locations. I. E. Big Tiger sharks will be out deeper and rarely come up to the shallows. I know Wahoo charters in Sydney offer game shark fishing. Might be a little pricey as far as charters go but all the gear is prepped, baits taken care of and any catches are dealt with by experienced shark fishos. It also opens up your target species too...such as tiger sharks and makos. Rather than just bull sharks and whalers.
You might have better luck by boat as the larger sharks will require longer shock leaders (at least 1.5-2m) and wire traces (about 1m). When using rigs like this off a beach... It makes casting impossible on those rigs for big sharks. The solution around it is to get someone to kayak out your baited rigs for larger sharks. Ballooning a bait out from shore has worked for me in calmer waters but ive never tried from a beach. Theoretically I'd chuck a ballooned shark rig into a rip on the beach and let it go out 100-150m but again... Never tried it.
If going from the rocks you might want to target some blue groper as well. Take the time to source some red rock crabs and whack one onto a 6/0 octopus style hook. No trace just straight 30lb mono straight to the hook with a tiny ball sinker running freely to it. They inhabit the washes of just about every headland in Sydney. You won't need to cast far... They're usually hugging up close to the rocks under a gentle white wash. I've seen (and hooked... Yet to catch) the big blue's around LongReef and Barrenjoey heads. Plenty of raiders who are familiar with groper if you want to wrestle with a few. I'm hopeless at getting onto the blues.
Like you mentioned... Best to tee up with a local. I can suggest you check out Alex Bellissimo from Bellissimo charters in Sydney. He's top of the game and will definitely be able to get you into some great fish from the rocks. He offers beach fishing too... So sharks might be on the cards too. Again... Can be pricey but worth it.
Was gonna suggest hitting the rocks too but can be a little hairy if the person taking them isn't experienced, suggesting Alex Bellissimo was a good idea. Rock fishing isn't something us UK lads are aware of much unless you live here. We think Australia and first thought is shark. But over last 4months or so been hitting the rocks gaining experience and confidence. It's super fun and drummer fight very very hard. I've yet to land a groper too but patience will pay off. All a matter of making sure the net is ready quick enough before line rubs through ?. Invested in a 5.5m handle to keep them away while netting

I'm from the UK too. Lived here over a year with great success off of Manly Beach any time of year. PM me here nearer the time as am more than happy to catch you those sharks
Ah also make sure you pay for licence for the time you're here believe it or not you need a licence for sea fishing over here. The fisheries do a lot help over here but do fine you very heavy if you haven't got licence. No worries though the licence is cheap as chips

Bait

True with the fatties especially at rose bay. Even with bait don't be scared to flick it and let settle every few minutes. Keep bait fresh change every 20mins

Bream: use garlic chicken thigh strips about 20mm long 5mm wide. Flathead: Berkeley plastic worm in camo and half pilchards(tail end). That's if you're land based in those spots. In summer in the spots long 30mm by 10mm strips of squid with 1/0 hook work ace. I've been land based fishing those spots for over a year now with good results

Working a lure at 12ft or more is a mission
Shimano do some very nice lightweight rods at 12ft you can use for lures. I have one and never get tired arms. Also reel wise a baitrunner or baitrunner style reel is good because you can effectively free spool the fish if it goes in to a tight space. If they think they are off they will likely swim out and you can land it. Make sure you have a long net handle too. Mines about 5meter

Rod shouldn't be too short mate maybe 10ft or more. I personally use 14ft on the rocks keeps me safely away from the edge. See a lot of guys with short rods way to close to the water it isn't good practice ?

Nice work mate, Trev's seem to get everywhere. Ive had some pretty good ones at blackwattle bay

This time last year I've seen them around blackwattle bay, near the cement works

Live bait always best mate

like to know how much you paid for the days charter please mate.
Hey mate. It was $120 each 10 of us. Not sure if that is normal rate or if the club got it discount. Lovely crew and boat. I will try find out the name of the charter and pm it to you. They have three boats. Two charters and a smaller private boat for small group

I thought there was No fishing at Rhodes / Wentworth point or is that just in the bay where the signs are.
i would be staying up towards Gladesville.
Catch and release around Rydalmere wharf seems good lately with some descent Bream spotted when launching my boat two weeks ago.
Fished there with no hassle, normally a few people fishing. It's just the very point area which you can fish. There is heavy restrictions around there as it was the location of factories for agent orange and other similar chemicals.

No, try Wentworth point further down the parra. DON'T go through the Olympic Park with your gear to get the and stay on the point as much as possible not to cross on to the Olympic Park area as you will likely get a fine. It's great for soft plastics for bream and whiting. Throw out a squid for the Jew fish around there too while working the sp. (don't forget loose drag or baitrunner so it doesn't pull rod in water)

Always a wide variety to fish there. It is very busy most days when the conditions are good. My recommendation: when looking at the jetty look to the right and you will see some rocks. Head up the walking trail and take the second path off of it to the left and it will get you down there. Lots of berley, I use breadcrumb, chicken pellets and small bits of bait I want to use.
Rig, go small 0 or 00 sinker, bead and then hook, size 1 up to 3/0.
Bait squid strip hooked through once or pillie tails.
