Quality over quantity mate??

Yeah one piece is a bit of a pain to get around for me as don't have a vehicle. I use a shimano raider most of the time goes to three pieces fits in tube for my backpack. Rarely I will take my one piece, 7ft rod.(for the larger species)

I've caught snapper, trevally, flathead and even bream with strips of mullet. I've caught them all times of the day. Chipping Norton seems to have an abundance of mullet and I've caught even areas without structure

Sedona is a lovely smooth reel mate
-
Mix some bread crumbs fish oil and water to throw out near where you are casting to get them in

Small mullet are plentyful at Chipping Norton mate. A Paternoster with a couple of small hooks and bread always does the trick. I've not had a problem there any time of the day

After the recent rain stopping me from getting out finally a day to enjoy some fishing. Pompom and myself headed to Blues Point pre sunrise. Alternating between squid, pilchard and mullet as bait. Pompom had an eel. The eel must of thought he had his jelly ready as pompom is the most cockney geezer I know. I caught a baby snapper and a 40cm Flathead. We saw others getting bonito on lures.

I would love to finally catch on soft plastic

Amazing, giving me hope. I'm yet to catch on a lure over here ??

The Shimano raider surf rod is nice mate I've caught a couple of decent fish with it. Was about $139 from memory

Using live bait land based I use a live bait slider. Plenty of YouTube videos about them

Oh don't use the rigs more than twice as the salt corrodes them and they will just break
-
Hey mate, get some sabiki rigs from Kmart. Tip them with very small bits of chicken breast or thigh. Clifton Gardens and Chipping Norton lake I've had success!!

Snapper on SP's
in Fishing Reports
Posted
So after my long practice with soft plastics, I caught a cracking Flathead this week. My first SP catch. Today (Sunday) I took FisherladySteve to try it with some useful tips from myself. She turned out to be a natural. We fished Blackwattle Bay as its just outside our back door. After a few casts and moving to our second spot she caught her first fish on SP's, a snapper. She was totally made up and can't wait for another trip.
