  1. Hey raiders sorry for the late report but been super busy Uncle recently purchased and new boat and rings me saying he’s keen to hit the fads I’ve never been more then 2kms offshore so to say i was stoked would be a understatement so $200 of skirts and and tackle later.... 5: 30 am start port kembla boat ramp Boat in water and a 2 min drive away from the boat ramp we arrive at bait grounds , within 30 mins and first light we had 25+ yakkas Headed out to the five islands and trolled them around within a hour half we only had 3 undersize kings biggest going 63 so we decided was time to hit the fads straight out the the fads were we are met with say 30+ boats sitting well off the bouy like 800m , so with only 1 boat doing drifts past the bouy we settled with that, livies down ready to go so I started top water sticking baiting nothing for 15mins then out the Connor of my eye I see a school swim past the boat some of decent size some tiny my rod goes off and after a little fight I had my first mahi mahi (56cm pictured)in the boat what beautiful fish! The colours are amazing the fight not so bad ethier after this they kept comming in biggest going 65cm ,10+ fish boated 3 keepies , we decided we would head in for lunch on the way home we slow trolled a Yakka back past the island as and picked up a fat 68cm king back at the boat ramp by 11 mahi shashmi is amazing! Better then kingfish in my opinion cheers tdogz Tight lines
  2. Cheers boys will make the 1m king every more worth it when she comes @Sigma @masterfisho7 I have found that when the squid are being very picky or really don’t want I show face at all, if you drop 1 live squid in at the start of your drift and have him 2m under boat his friends will want what he has in his tentacles and tend to come up and drop another jig next to it will smash it, basically like having a follower when you bring in a squid , worked on more the 3 ocassions so far , give it a go next time it gets a bit tough! @mtlg
  3. couple of mates said they have spotted a few around aswell they defs be around as the kings starting firing up ! @mtlg cheera boys @masterfisho7 @kiwicraig @big Neil
  4. Hey raiders Week 2 so on the 3/1/19 we arrive back at Jervis Bay with a rumour or 2 that the water had heated up and kings were starting to show up after the 2nd group run out of fuel on the highway a 5am start turned into a 6:30am start , boat ramp packed we finally managed to get on water 10 yakkas in the boat in 5 mins he head to squid grounds and they were very picky took us 3 locations to land the 1st so we left him in the water to attract his mates 15 mins lates 6 of his friends in the tank we then head to straight to point to find no boats, hmm worrying, first 2 live squid go over and we start trolling within minutes sounder is lit up with massive bait schools and even bigger marks following it next thing we know Stella is screaming on high drag this is the 1m king , after about 8-10 minutes of fighting it seeing big colour in the water my knot pulls almost boat side goodbye pb king and my hopes and dreams with it haha regroup and we go agian mates rod screaming off it tits and reffed before we could even do anything , so after the next hour my mates rod got reefed 4 times and I managed to land a 76cm king on the Stella He regroups and lands a 74cm king without live bait left and conditions getting worse and worse we had to call it a day I promise the next 1m king will not be getting the same chance this one did wetherman no good us over so we didn’t manage to get back out there cheers tdogz tightlines
  5. Hey raiders Week 1 so on the 23/12/18 I headed down to Jervis Bay to chase some the start of the kings with a mate Arrived on the squid grounds and within 5 mins we had 3 squid they were bloody firing probably something to do with the overcast/raining conditions after the next hour we had 15 squid Our plan was to head to point perp but the swell was way to large to get there so we settled for middle gorunds were we managed 1 rat 59cm king before conditions worsened so we called it a day 24/12/18 loaded with Fresh squid he headed straight to point we trolled for 2-3 hours marking only bait , so we handed for middle grounds and continued trolling there Within 20 minutes my Stella was screeeeming, my instant thought was finally the 1m king I’ve been looking for but then it ran straight to the surface so that was out of the question , marlin maybe? So after about a 25minute fight we were met with a 2 meters hammerhead shark what a experience it was! Trolled again for another rat king in the low 60s Day went quiet after that so we headed in! 29/12/18 was camping with a group of mates all amutaur fishos so I thought I’d take em out to catch some squid all catching squid then I hook on to a monster , big big pluses after a very careful and slow fight I was met with a 39cm hood green eye boys were frothing and pb for myself! cheers tdogz tight lights
  6. Hey raiders ill Be heading down the jervis Bay over then next 3 weeks just wondering if the kings have been around yet or firing?? If so at point perp , middle grounds browns? Any information would be greatly appreciated Pics f or attention
  7. Hey raiders so heard a couple rumours of kings firing in botany as of late so I had to check it it myself In the water by 6am very unfimlar grounds for myself so found some patches of weeds and started squidding struggled for the 1st hour then snagged 4 dropping 3 boat side , i then tryed the artificial for yakkas but was met with 10000s of slimies grabbed a couple and headed to the container wall we’re i have heard many people catching them we were met by around 30 boats shit you not! my mate had a jig on his rod when we arrived so decided to do some jigging first , first drop and boom he’s hooked up straight awAy I barley got my lure to the bottom when my 2000 rod started screaming!! Fat little kingy my mate pulls up , same with mine over the next 2 hours rods were going off everywhere! All silly little rats from 58cm to 63 our biggest great fun on light gear! big tip!.. if kings are schooling leave one king in water and bring 1 at a time and keep swapping you’ll hook up back to back and as long as there still interested) Tide changed and kings went quiet so I suggest going on high tide tight lines ledgends! Cheers tdogz
  8. Hey raiders 6am start at Yowie Bay as most of my reports go straight off to catch some squid just off cronulla, boy we’re they fired up! Within a hour half we had 9 perfect live baits and 2 high 20s squid for dinner ready to go the swell still very big out the heads and south was not ideal , so we tryed along the moard boats along lilli pilli marking plentiful bait almost everywhere no marks though so we headed into Gymea for basically the same result after 2 hours of potting slowly around we had nothing then I noticed some birds hitting the surface plus a couple bust ups in the distance back over near lilli pilli.. when we arrive we were met with 3 other boats but no action soon the other boats disappeared so we decided to slow troll some lives around and my mate got a solid run then dropped still unsure weather it was tailor or kings we vernture back through for the Stella to start screaming (drag very loose) on the end my first legal king of the season! 66cm and fat! Caught 2 more rats then quite , so we headed home with sashimi & calamari in the esky Heard Botany Bay container wall was firing with kings over the weekend anyone confirm this? Cheers tdogz - tightlines
  9. Hey mate normally use a 2.2 or 2.5 Yama in white ,orange , green In 2m to 6m of water and you’ll find them in the weed or reed areas mate I have my most luck off cronulla hope this helps
  10. Hey raiders Been awhile since my last post due to winter and nothing worth posting about So lately I’ve been setting out with trying the catch the first kingfish of the season (Always the hardest) So after roughly 2-3 trips returning with a donut, This weekend produced the goods ——Saturday—- So as normal day starts with catching some fresh live squid for bait and within about 1 hour off cronulla we had 10 lives ready to set out With the conditions over the weekend not ideal for offshore fishing we set out in the hacking Over that past couple of trips I’ve been marking them in Gymea Bay and lilli pilli but they were only taking the micro baits So set out in lilli pilli and after a troll of 30 of minutes I’m marking up a decent school holding the bottom then boom! Double hook up on the kings me and 1st mate both score our first kings of the season 1st 63cm 2nd 58cm , this continued for another 3 fish each all undersize till we called it a day —-Sunday— So on back on the water for the low tide change.. geared up with the leftover squid from the Saturday we had back over to lilli pilli and just happen to find a school of bait while setting up the rods , then a few moments later the sounder lit up with big marks So out when 2 squid.. within seconds 2nd mates rod bends and starts screaming after a good fight a 71cm king comes in the boat ( his first king of the season aswell) then it went all quite fished for a another 3 hours for nothing Kings are back baby get amongst it! Cheers tdogz Tight lines!
  11. Cheers for the feed back Bruce I’ll be sure to give it a go!
  12. Bruce mate! How do you go about catching your blue swimmers I would to know your technique, no spots needed just curious as to how you catch em! Cheers tdogz
  13. Hey raiders Arrive at the boat ramp at 6am met by a very strong 15-20 knot westerly wind Getting bait was very difficult in these conditions managed 2 squid in 40 mins decided that would be enough as we have frozen squid from previous trips what a hellfight it was getting over the the king grounds with some easily 3ft wind swell from the west arrive at point perp.. and there is no land swell just the wind but heaps of bait and could see the kings following on the sounder was a pleasant day fishing wise horrible wind wise but we managed to catching a total of 14 kings only 2 of that were legal one going 73cm and the biggest one in the photos below going 65-66cm , a sneakey bonito smashed a stickbait on the surface bigger marks under neath the smaller ones but guessing but couldn’t get deep enough before the smaller ones snapped the baits up back to the boat ramp with beers in hand can’t complain with that cheers TdogZ tight lines 19C751DE-E861-440D-A7AF-F9B9A17A703C.mp4
  14. Hey raiders sorry for the week late report been busy so you’ll get last weeks and this weeks report today! So was no plan to fish had I didn’t have my normal fishing buddies with me but the boys said they would be keen to go out so that was enough for me get to the boat ramp and the whole of jervis Bay was like a lake not a whisper of wind shoot over to couple of the yellow bouys(bait grounds) bait was everywhere but not taking anything then I saw about 30 quick silver flashes fly through it was school of bonito smashing them managed 2 yakkas between the wave , straight back out for livies and within minutes one of the boys have a bonito in the boat decided it was a lost cause so headed straight over to king grounds as had frozen squid from last trip we were met with heaps of bait on the sounder so squid strips down and the first rod goes off my 4000 stradic with unstoppable force! The boys are in disbelief then my other mates rod goes off and he barely holds on as it starts running mind you he had never caught a fish in his life! 63cm king surfaces and he’s stocked! the look on his face when I tell him it has to go back was priceless .. 10 mins later smoked on the stradic again! Then mate catches his 2nd fish and a 43cm snapper comes up! 5 mins later he’s starting to get seasick and boom over the side he’s out within seconds haha me and my other mate keep fishing and manages a 75cm kingfish not one fish caught by me but personal best for both the boys Unfortunately have to come in some of the calmsest conditions I have ever fished due to sea sickness Cheers TdogZ tightlines!
  15. Cheers mate definitely took some time learning the ropes was very familiar with the good donut for long time cheers to all the other boys also!
