Have to agree it was a very nice night on the hawkesbury. Congrats on coming home with some tucker. We were out all night sat as well near cottage point where smiths and cowan meet. Lotsa soapies, a big shark, 1 bust off and one premature strike on a livie =/ <user incompetance

Bugger =/ i had a feeling 80lb braid was going a bit too far (i have a habit of overkill when it comes to lines). Looks like ill need to find the receipt and swop for somthing lighter, quite a lot lighter

BUGGER ! I would be dirty bout that, even more dirty after not landing any biggies for the rest of the trip. Same thing happened to this guy i met at the bobbin head boat ramp saturday night, he dropped a $700 outfit with a live yakka on it.. not happy jan.. but what can ya do Hope you snag it when your out bottom bashing next time!

Hi guys, What are your thaughts for line size and type for beach fishing chasing jewies with whole yakkas and squid? Ive just bought a penn captiva cv8000 and some hercules 80Lb braid and am thinking i went a little overboard with the line size, afterall there are no snags at the beach to give me reason to have to reef the jewie outa water?

Great catch that kingie must of pulled HARD! i myself have been waiting for a fish like that but it seems my lazyness in gathering live bait has caused all those wasted days out next time live bait or i aint heading out!
