Hi JAKSShark for me it's Kingfish, They fight hard 95% of the time and at times are extremely hard to tempt, they get you to try different ways to fool them into taking the bait/lure, so they get you thinking as well.

    Also great to eat

Yes definitely my second favourite, i now try and catch then on as light gear as possible and wow they always suprise

  2. Hello Raiders

I will start it off and tell you my favourite species in the ocean is the jewie because no matter if its the amateur catching a soapie or a pro pulling in his monster, the amount of work and time etc is always surpassed by a feeling of satisfaction with the jewfish.

Please reply and tell me YOUR favourite species in the ocean? And why?

  3. Hello Luke, You are better of using baits for jews than hardbodies. Drifting with baits on the bottom in 10metres+ water with baits such as squid tailor slab mullet yakka slimies etc u will hav a chance at jews but check out the jewfish threads on this site they will inform you

I would troll up around north head, south head, around the wedding cakes and around manly as they are generally easy to get bonito taolor salmon n kings on big rapala deep divers. Although for these you will have to implement a faster troll than for flatties

  4. Hello Raiders,

I have been viewing fishraider for a year or so and only just decided to sign up. I am a 17yo male and a keen fisherman from the sydney area. I have fished for many different species and these are (my) best catches (probably nothing compared to yours)- 94cm jew, 96cm kingfish, among many other kings n jews and species such as sharks, flatties, bream, squid etc. I have loved fishing ever since i was about 5 and go every chance i get.  I go 50%boat based and 50%land based. I use the sydney harbour, hawkesbury and pittwater systems.
