  1. Choad, I believe the Stabicraft is plate and made in NZ......they do like a little 'ugly' but ride very softly for a tin boat.
  2. G'day Choad, I'm thinking along the same lines as you. After all the reading I've done, I'm down to a list of the three; Cougarcraft, Barcrusher and Stabicraft all around the 6m mark or so. Out of the three I've only test driven the Stabicraft 609HT which I was very impressed with. Hanging out for the Sydney Boat Show to look at a few more options and see what appeals. It will be very interesting to see the input of others from this site. Happy hunting....

    Members Boats.

This is my current pride and joy. It's a 5m 1996 Seafarer Viva with a 75 Mercury. Great for the bay and inshore reefs.
  4. Thanks Dave, I love your boat! Been looking at the Cougarcraft's for a while now and very impressed. I'm thinking about upgrading from my 5m Seafarer but not sure if i can go that big. Interested in these, the barcrusher and stabicraft. Not sure which way to go. I'd like something about the 6 to 6.5m mark but don't want to buy another tow vehicle. I've got a medium sized 4WD and don't want to go to the expense of changing cars. Waiting for the Sydney boat show to get a few more ideas...............Cheers..
  5. Thanks folks, I was pretty happy with the shots as well. It's an Olympus SP-500UZ, with 6 meg and 10x optical zoom. This little camera is almost idiot proof and has a great auto 'night scene' menu. It was shot off the rear deck of the crusie ship 'Sapphire Princess' which the wife and i were lucky enough to go on earlier this year. This is one huge ship at 175,000 tonnes and the second largest in the world. It's hard to tell fromt he shot but it won't fit under the bridge, just massive.. I'm in the foreground.........
  6. Nice King mate, haven't they been great fun this year!!! Well done..
  7. A couple of photo's of Sydney Harbour icons I took earlier this year. Thought you may enjoy...
  8. Thanks for greeting and it's nice to be part of the fun. Yeah it was a great eating fish, but just before the bad weather arrived it was'nt unusual to pick up a few. Here's a couple more to keep the wind and rain at bay. Can't wait for a decent day at sea!!
  9. G'day folks, I'm one of the many new members to join the fun here on FR. I've been having a ball reading the posts over the past few weeks and thought that it was about time I got off my butt and joined in. I live at Batemans Bay and attached (I hope) is a sample of the snapper we were catching just before the big rains. With any luck it will be a baby compared to those after the seas settle. I picked it up on a live yakka in about 30m of water. Didn't weigh it didn't measure it, but it fed five hungry mouths. Got to love those south coast snapper.... If your down this way, drop me a line and I might be able to point you in the right direction. All the best and love the site!!
