  1. I just got a butt join rod and pushed it to far and now its stuck.

I already tried 2 ice blocks and a bag of peas

already tried twisting and pulling with 2 people

    about to try warm water

    Any other methods that work??

Its proper stuck and not budging

  2. Nice catch

Index and middle finer together and put into hood. go around a couple of times. Then pull the head down, should come right off with ink sack and everything. Then cut down middle the hood and remove the clear bone. If you want to eat the tentacles, cut on the level of the beak and remove the beak. The rest head isn't good eating, no reason you can't just a bit chewy and sandy. marinate in soy or teriyaki sauce with lime and chilli for an hour or 2 then bbq or crumb with egg and bread crumb and fry.

    Good luck

Ive used Cal's grease for years on my reels, I also replace the drag washers with carbontex drag washers. You can buy the washers either ready made or buy sheets of carbontex and cut your own. These are normally a big improvement over standard washers.

Thyre the $14 ones of ebay right?

This was just a fix to get through until they arrive. But the drag is very smooth now.

Most high end reels especially the bigger ones with more powerful drags do not have an anti reverse, as it's just one more thing to fail.  As already suggested, I would set it forward and leave it as it is rarely used.  If your realy determined to fix, attach a photo of broken part, as your more likely to get suggestions on a fix.   Ron

I have made a 3d CAD design for this and can print it in PLA. would this have any chance of working or should I use ABS or one of the metal filaments

I also have another reel where one of the teeth have snapped on the main gear and there aren't any spares available.

Well the way I see it & part of the reason I bought my rod at its length & weight was it was a bit of a combo rod, to be able to be used as a stick bait rod but also able to be a moderately heavy bottom rod.

If your going to buy the HX version then don't expect it will cast as good as the lighter version.

    It is what it is.

Yeah alright, can I counter that by adding heavier sinker/ bait?

Im planning to use this for shark, king, jewfish ect.

I was watching a video and it seemed to casts stick baits fine.

  6. Hi,

So i have broken the ant reverse switch on my reel. It has snapped apart. Spare parts are also unavailable

Im thinking i could either 3d print a new one or try and drill it our and put a piece of wire through it and then fill it with resin. Would any of these work?

Is there a better way to fix this?

  7. I have been looking for this rod but I have been told conflicting information.

Firstly i emailed dawia and they said the SALTIST BW SJ 82XH SPIN and the Saltist Bw Sj 802 xh AO were the same. But theres a price difference of $25. Also they said the SALTIST BW SJ 82XH SPIN was a mid join instead of a butt join (at the top of the foregrip). This was different to the pictures I was given by someone and Dinga and Motackle when I emailed them about it.
I was wondering if anyone could confirm the join is on the top of the foregrip and it has a rubber gimbal.

Thankyou for your help in advance :)

Sorry, have I read that right ...these man made ponds have been deliberately stocked with carp !!  Thought that was illegal (not to mention stupid and reckless)

They do it to eat the carp apparently. But yeah its pretty dumb and reckless. They installed an electrocution thing on the main pond

  9. The beaches will be very busy, If you want to try go late afternoon. Also manly dam is worth trying if your interested in freshwater (carp, bass, refin). I would suggest early morning or evening to night if you want to go to the wharfs as they get very busy. Narabeen is awesome for leather jacket, got my first one there, prawns work well as well as pipies.
