  1. top catch there. where abouts in hacking? looks like the jews have come out to play
  2. i reckon the one still swiming with my hooks and 60lb fluro was about the 7-10kg mark. Once again not massive but big fish none the less for chiswick. Big head shakes and crafty to go round the pilon. I learnt after that one and moved 100m away from the pilon.
  3. hummm how do i put pics??? ok worked it out
  4. Went for a late arvo/night fish. Fished the run in and on first dark hooked a ripper. Pulled me into a pilon and that was that for the 30lb braid. Not more than 20 mins later the bait runner took off again and ended in no hook up. Not long after it goes again and i land a small jew much smaller than the first one hooked and goes 2.5kg. all in all not a bad night. Pics to follow after i work out how to get them off the phone Ok worked it out. should have got a shot with it next to a tape but it was about 60cm. not big at all but still a bit of fun.
  5. ok that lizard is at least 112cm.. i reckon 5-6 kg. nice day out!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Caught 2 of them at sow and pigs last weekend but were a heap bigger than that one. was out on sunday and found the samething. only had one run all day with no hookup. oh an i caught a flounder, keeper but they dont count much when your chasing kings.
  7. was out there about the same time and caught no squid but caught yackas. No luck either and my sounder was working. At least you were not the only one that struggled
  8. great report there! lovely Trev. There everywhere in the harbour still as experianced on sunday just not that size!!! congrats. me thinks i gota get to CG this weekend on the baot.
  9. well done. sounds perfect to me! hopefully signs of a great season to come
  10. Much the same here dave. All i could manage on sunday was a heap of leather jackets caught on spiked bait jigs, a flatie, a whiting and 2 Port jackson Sharks that were well over a meter long each but released. hope next weekend is better
  11. nice report once again jewgaffer. looks like it was some fun for all involved. Cant wait till it warms up a bit to get out there and fire up on the big stuff.
  12. Great news!!!!!!! will be doing my best to smash a few up over the next few months
  13. too easy jewgaffer. i hope your right. i am now settled in at drummoyne and possibly looking to upgrade the boat. but what to buy? only time will tell
  14. Jewgaffer, cheers for your comments mate. there was actually a few guys from MSB doing a survey on fishing in the river. they reckon i did well compared to everyone else they surveyed at the ramps. I believe the river is a bit sick at the moment and they MUST get the commercial fishers out of there QUICK! I can remember fishing those same haunts just on 2 years ago and come back bagging out on bream with fish up to and over 50cm+. Its been a while since i have come back with over 10 fish. same tactics, same baits, are they getting smarter or has the river been fished out?
  15. i went as west as the rock wall. very poor fishing up that way. not even the cats were up there. cats were like a plaigue at the power lines, bar point was ful of them, road bridge only held babies. tried a few other spots for nothing as well.
  16. Hi all. This is my first report as a fishraider member but prepare for many more. The weather is warming, the boat is running great and i have finished moving houses so i can now get back on the water. OK i slept in on Sunday morning and ended up launching the boat at 8am. lines in the water at 8:30. Started up the river and worked my way around with the tide. I have fished the river for many years specifically targeting bream and whiting. I have not seen the river so quiet in a long time. There were no boats around at all and worse than that no fish. I fished from all the way west to as east as the road bridge in all the favourite, tried and tested spots. Finally the fish came on the nibble at about 1pm. Picked up 4 bream and a dusky at the vines (where i usually never catch anything). The tide stopped running and started to change at about 2:30. called it a day. Not a total loss but very ordinary result. The water looked very brown/green and there was a LOT of drift wood and crap in the water. I think the big river needs some more time after last weeks rain. hopefully next time i wont fish alone as it gets a bit boring with no fish being caught. enjoy the pics cheers Vince
  17. Looks like all bases were covered. Was That a Typo or was the water temp only 11deg? Thats dam cold. too cold for even cat fish. yuck. when things pick up and after i finally move home i am free for a good jew session. (thats in a week or 2) I cant wait and if the jews dont want to co operate i will test out the downrigger. Now all i got to hope is that my smoked reel is back from warranty
  18. Jewgaffer, top report again, cant wait to learn more. looked perfect near the bridge. Not much traffic on weekdays i take it. Looks like you were in the eddy.
  19. Jew, you know your stuff mate, cant wait to get out and land a heap. only thing i am worried about is there being any left after your last assult.
  20. What to say... mmmmmmmmmmmm nope i am lost for words.
