  1. Great article Derek you contribution to the fishing community is huge, Inparting your enthusiasm and vast knowledge is part of the reason I am now fishing.
  2. Three of us gathered for a Fishing Trip @Bennyg78 @DerekD and Myself got together to fish and impart knowledge. We kicked off at 8am at Graham Park at the Gosford Waterfront Tide rising no wind, but passing shower, It was a quiet kick off, a couple of bites, Ben caught a Taylor. After about 90 minutes we move and stopped for a breakfast at Green Point Shopping Centre, nice bakery. Coffee and chatted about where to next then headed off to Green Point boat ramp, parked and worked the shore north into bay. Lots of weed, a few nibbles working the area with top water lures. It was a bust. A bit of shopping a Fishing & outdoors store in Erina to expand lures collection and picked up some Eco Vibes. Then a bite to eat to fuel up for an afternoon at Terrigal Lagoon and a break from the passing showers. Lunch at a café Erina. then off to the Lagoon Fished the West side of the lagoon near the bridge work the area around and as we looking to wind up Derek Jaggs a massive flaty It was great fight. We all work to get it up on shore to measure and deciding whether it was a feed tonight. It measured at 75cm, so Flathead for dinner was off the table, and we release her back into the lagoon to breed and grow the population. With that success under our cap (well Derek’s) it was time to go. Good day overall. Looking to have more success, weather a factor. Outcome of the day for me is expanding the lures I use, changing style to suit the environment and the fish, a long way to go for me. Good Opportunity to get to know the area better and get to know fellow raiders. Each trips builds my experience on fishing, casting, equipment and the area. Thanks to @Derekd and @BennyG78 for company and wonderful time. Thanks for reading and good fortune with your fishing!
  3. Hi All Trip out to the entrance 17th January. fished west of the Bridge near the skate park at about 6.15pm water ok, a bit murky a lot of weed close in. Using soft plastics Casting into the wind, a couple of others fishing as well but not much to report. A couple of bites, a bit of weeds, Beautiful day
  4. Hi Little_Flatty Yep, figured that out and his reminder for me to join and be active. great site and forum. Cheers
  5. Good morning, Fellow Raiders My Report of a trip round the Central Coast on the 5th January 2023 with Mate and Mentor @DerekD Kicked off at Graeham Park on the Gosford Waterfront just near that Central Coast Stadium met at 8,00 am the southerly wind blowe this location out and @DerekD has some suggestions from a fellow raider, so we moved to Saratoga and caught some breakie and then did some top water fishing with soft plastic at the public wharf at Jirramba Reserve.off Mimosa Avenue Saratoga It was shelter from the wind but not the passing showers, had a few hits nothing big, nothing caught working off the wharf. we change to Skinny Pops without success Spent about 90 minutes. Next Stops we stayed in Saratoga and cast a line at the Saratoga Oval (Willaroo Road) off the rock wall a little more open to the weather, continued with rail jackets cast out with Skinny Pops and Vibes got some hit, @DerekD caught a Bream, just shy of legal, release back. @DerekD was great company with mentoring and advice. on casting and styles of attracting the fish, locations to cast. It was a great learning experience. we spend about 2 hours here and the stopped for lunch at Shelly Cafe on Village Rd at Saratoga. Good Food Reasonable price, service was good, nice people servicing. Next Stop was cast a line at Terrigal Lagoon parked on Willoughby Rd near the Banjo Skatepark sheltered from the Southerly wind, work on the off the reserve. we fished here for about 45 minutes when some people came down with Remote controlled boat start to zip around the area, while I did not mind when it became a problem is when the boat stirred up a duck straight into my line and it got tangled, we then spent the next 20 minutes bringing the tangled duck in and removing the line and the lure. the Duck was fine after we untangled and cut the line. The Driver of the boat decided it was time to disappear before we could have chat about their actions. We then walk across the bridge and start to fish the northside in front of the house which is reserve with the coming from the south we work around the more sheltered side, casting with Skinny Pops avoiding the ducks (Hahaha), the wind was not our friend, and the hits were not coming while the was definitely activity in the water with fish jumping, just not on our hooks. It was round 4 pm, we move to our last location Wamberal Lagoon off Remembrance Drive the wind picked up but it was good, shoe off and walk into the lagoon. we worked the area with vibes and Success Derek got hits and brought in a Whiting. I got a whiting and flathead (Dusky) photos attached All in all a good day considering the weather looking forward to the next venture
