  1. Certainly, an entertaining way to fish, and normally with good results if you can find them. My mate who was with me had never fish that way previously as such I had 6 in the boat before he got one, to say he was disappointed would be an understatement, as mates do, I reminded him of the count regularly. Pictured is my little Stessl 5.3 Trophy centre console, power by a 90 Suzuki 4 stroke, the "T" top is a recent addition and works really well. I find this boat ideal for this type of fishing with plenty of room at 2.4 metres wide. Cheers,
  2. Thanks Zoran, A smallish ball sinker (about 8mm dia) running straight down to the head of the Pilchard was used, had to increase it once when the wind increased slightly. I find the best method is to cast forward of the boat, leave the bail arm open and let the bait just drift down, when the fish pick up the bait the line just starts peeling off at a rapid rate, give them a couple of seconds, close the bail arm and hang on. I find I get much better results fishing this way when conditions allow. You need to try and judge the depth and not allow the bait to get too close to the bottom or you start getting the rubbish, although I did get a couple of Seargent Baker mid water. Helped to have a heap of bait under the boat as well, I think. Cheers,
  3. Thanks mate, I don't but probably should, I do bleed any Mowie's if I get any. Cheers,
  4. Fair catch of snapper Nth of Ulladulla last Friday, we were down that way for 2 weeks and were very limited with the weather. These fish were caught in approximately 35-40 metres of water, floating full pilchards on snelled hooks. Smallest was 38cm and the largest weighed 2.4kg.
