  1. On balmoral wharf if you can go during the week or early morning or when it’s rainy it’s best so you get a bit of space as it’s usually pretty busy give the 20 grams a go and see if there willing to take them you will usually see the bonito they will swim past the wharf and start busting up a bit if they don’t take it try out some smaller profile lures or some bigger ones until you find what’s right for the day
  2. I recommend trying out balmoral with shorejigs got a few Bonnie’s and Mac tuna there I recommend jig para 7 gram micro jigs
  3. I’m back in Sydney but looking forward to come back to Jervis bay another time I might also practise my rock fishing while here to go for Pelagics next time and also practise reading beaches to find whiting ands other beach species
  4. Not much luck had about an hour of fishing tweed bait worms (nothing against them just think fresh or live bait is best) and went to cave beach (still learning how to read the beaches also found this one very flat) and yeah but next time I’ll come more prepared and try inside the bay. I’m still a beginner at fishing and still learning but the advice for the squid really helped guys.
  5. I found a book from the fisheries that you get from bait and tackle stores that shows the different areas and sanctuaries but thank you

  7. Yes I was fishing the weed beds like you said to do and yes I still have to get some worms for the whiting

  11. I’m based at Vincentia so plantation point I’ll give a go for squid and rock fishing I’m a complete newbie so not too sure I’ll check the weather and swell but yeah if it’s a safe spot I’ll give a go.
  12. I’ve never really caught sharks but I’ll give it a go so I’ll try pilchards and mullet fillets. Thanks for the advice everyone it means a lot.

  14. hello guys I’m a young keen fisherman who is going to Jervis bay over the weekend I will be bringing a light rod and a medium rod and a beach rod i’m looking for some tips as in what bait and what general spots are alright and what species I should be going for any help would be appreciated thank you for your time maz
