Hi all, What would a caribbean crusader go like after being podded with say a 225hp Yamaha? I do alot of fishing so would be carrying alot of extra weight( burley, fuel ,e.t.c..) on board to counter balance the weight taken out from the sterndrive, any idea's would be good?

The re build of the boat took a while but has come up good, im happy with her, i reco'd the Merc 470 that was in it when i bought the boat. Cheers Dave

Thanks guys, were stoked with the capture, it's always nice when your plans come together, it was'nt easy getting her on board , 1.5 hrs with a 4T pulley system but finally got her in. Cheers Dave

Hi all, Headed out off Port Hacking yesterday in search of a big Tiger as there have been a few around lately, we set up drift on the shelf off Stanwell and 30 minuites later we were greeted by a Huge Mako doing backflips in our slick,,,, We were hooked up, The Mako didnt do a real lot and stayed up high and the chase was on. 40 min later the trace was up and all went to clockwork, gaffs were in , tail ropes were on and beers were opened. After spending the next 1.5hrs pulling the beast on board it was time to head home, back at the wharf the big Mako pulled the scales down to 365kg ,a new club record and a great fish on 15kg. By the way it was Runamuk's maiden voyage and what a way to christen the new boat.

We'll i think it sux. It will happen and unfortunately it wont be long before we cant target any shark species what so ever. But the pro's and long liners can still go slaughtering at will. It is absolutely disgusting, that it can and will happen. As of Feb 1 you cant even hook a Mako, you just have to let it swim around and you cant touch it.

Im thinking of podding my Berty 20 and putting a outboard on it, i have just fully reco'd a 470 and thinking of selling it with guages ,wiring loom, the whole lot for $6,500. Would anyone be interested in the Mercruiser 470, if i can get my money back on the reco , then i'll look at the pod option. I have all receipts for work done. If anyone interested pm me and ill let you know exactly what has been done to the motor but pretty much everything has been reco'd or is new. Comes with 1 drive sterndrive and inner and outer transom housings.

Hi all, whilst i finish off my project berty 20 and await some more funds to buy a new sterndrive, im tossing up the idea of painting the hull midnight blue as it has been painted in the past and looks pretty ordinary. My question is after all the prep work and sanding is done, do i have to prime the hull as it is already painted and can you roll and brush 2 pak on for a top finish as i dont have access to booth's and spray machines. How would it look being rolled and brushed? Cheers Dave

Hi all, After 12 months of restoring my Bertram 20 im nearly finished.A few hassles along the way, getting absolutely screwed by a mechanic doing my motor has put the project back a few months and me out of pocket a hell of a lot. Now the reco sterndrive that he apparently done has been stripped down and found that he didnt touch it, and the leg is stuffed. Im after a new or fully reco'd 1 drive or Alpha 1 sterndrive with a 1.65 R gear ratio. Can anyone help out as everything else has been re done by a good mechanic and fitted to boat , just need the sterndrive. Back to top

Hi all, There were some nice fish caught out of Botany bay today, 1 nice blue marlin 150kg plus tagged ,another blue around 100 and a nice mako weighed in at 350kg.

You say a 196kg Mako, star of the show, I'd like to know how you catch a 196kg mako on 6kg line legally in 5 minuites, because how long it took to catch it? This certain boat is making a reputation for itself taking plenty of mako's all on 6kg line, all in a very quick time. now i'd like to know if it's all done legally, I doubt it.

Does anyone have the results of the tournament?
