the Koden Cvs -833c is a good sounder with the 1kw tranny but the Furuno 585 with the 1kw is a better unit, i am running the furuno in my boat and have fished on boats with the 585 on board and they are awesome. Id go the Furuno if it was me. Cheers dave

I have a full set of Tiagra's ranging from the little 12 to the tiagra 50. We do alot of shark fishing off Sydney so we set up our reels accordingly to fit the most line on possible. we run Tiagra 12's with 4kg line, Tiagra 16's with 6kg line, Tiagra 20's with 8kg line , Tiagra 30's for 10kg, Tiagra 50's for 15kg line and tiagra 50w for 24kg. This set up allows us to get 1000m of maxima line onto each reel. Hope this helps.

Hi all, Im looking out for a good secod hand mercruiser 470 motor ? To cut a long story short, i have been screwed over by a marine mechanic that got me for $3,600 and all i got back was a block with second hand pistons that is basically a throw away.The promises of a new riser ,starter e.t.c... were all false and a 3 week job turned into 3 months and im out of pocket and a stuffed motor still. Sorry for the dribble guys, if anyone knows of a 470 lying around i would be very interested. Cheers Dave

Hi all,, I am heading up to Forster tomorrow and planning to do a fair bit of fishing in the river, have'nt been up there for 15 years and was hoping for some tips and spoys to throw a line. I am staying at Elizabeth Bay and will be launching from there. Any info would be great as im taking my 5 and 3 yr old boys to catch their first flattys. Cheers Dave

Just wondering who on this site owns a V19R and whats it powered by? What fuel consumption do you use and does your boat have any covers and clears as im looking at getting some and looking for ideas.
