Hi, Heading to Bali this week and I'm sure i saw some great reports on the site about some charters. Can anyone give me a heads-up on a charter after GTs, Rubys etc? i'll be fishing by myself so a few options would be great. Many thanks Duke

Hi Mate, Looks like a great charter, could I get the details P.M if you wish Thanks Duke

That's crazy. (sure your mates hadn't smoked a few fat ones? ) We were out Sunday arvo in the harbour and had a great session (sorry been to busy for a full post). We had a double hook-up at one stage and got both to the boat, interestingly the 68cm we hooked was 500gms heavier than the 71cm model. It went a lot harder as well. Cheers Duke

caught 2 on 6lb in the harbour the other day, all we could get them to take were small squidgee flick baits. great fun in the moorings. duke

Hi all, Going down to Hyams beach with some friends for the Xmas / New Year period. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good charter operator near or around the JB area? Looking for light game / reef fishing. Game is always an option. many thanks in advance for your time Tight lines duke

The Chain itself is also a fantastic structure....Great doubleheader on old squid! Duke

Hey Netic, Good work on the kings, we were the guys that turned up at the reef in the orange brooker and the old blue haines. You guys seemed to have that place sussed. We got dusted on 80lb braid as soon as we got there and then hooked up another 2 times but lost both when the hooked pulled - weird. We did it tough on the squid though, 2 in 3 hours. Although I reckon the full moon may make them skittish. Oh well there is always next week. Cheers Duke

nice haul - you should sell them to fisho's coming under the spit bridge at dawn, you would probably get $10 a pop. What depth you setting them at? Cheers duke

Pick up the police bouy of forty baskets and burley hard with catfood. shouldnt take you long to get a bucketful. Cheers Duke

Hey Guys, I need some advice from you squid pro's! I'm normally pretty handy at picking up squid later in the morning around middle harbour and the main harbour but lately have been heading out before 5 so we can get some good early fishing time. The problem is whenever i have been targetting squid predawn, is that we haven't had much luck. so the first early hours are wasted. Do you guys fish the same spots and same style whilst it is dark? many thanks in advance will return the favour when I can Duke

Heading To Middle Harbour But Where To Fish?!
duke replied to dazzassj6's topic in Plan a Fishing Trip
If you walk to the point between Fisher bay and sandy bay, you can walk through to the point and cast into the deepwater (eddy) just off the point. Also work plastics over the drop off at fisherbay. hope this helps Duke -
saw a 4-5 ft bronzie off the front of Clontarf, early autumn last year....... duke

Hi - Caught a few frigates on pink skirts trolled at pace off North head last march. Cheers Duke

I think you were pretty lucky with the squid or maybe we were unlucky! we hit all the usual grounds for a big fat zilch!!. Noticed a lot of tiny fellas that would not take a jig. Spoke to a few others out on Saturday and they all struggled as well. That's fishing. I guess. Duke

30 minute fight in Sydney harbour, that's fantastic! did you actually sight it? as it could of been a big Cobia, always rumours of them around.... can you give us a clue where we might see (insert catch) said beast? Duke

i grew up on middle harbour, and I can tell you that those Pros used to put those nets out and sweep the whole of the Dobroyd region. Day after day, taking schools of kings with it. no matter how much we complained to fisheries they were legal at the time. The seagrass has never recovered.... fortunately things often slowed down for the pros when they were continually buzzed by some unnamed locals in tinnies!!! especially in school holidays...... things can only get better with the commercial bans.... I've had some success in the evenings around the ramp at Akuna bay, always worth a try. Does anyone ever get any squid in the day? mine are always at dawn or dusk but lately i have been fishing the afternoon tides so i havent really had a chance to get any.... any day time tips?

I was up there yesterday afternoon for a crack at some jewies in the hole further up at the turn of the tide - not a touch although the juvenile tailor were in plague proportions. Thats about the 10th time in a row with no success on the jewies... no luck at the bluff either. Anyone elso got any clues in middle harbour?

Hi Gents, Been a lurker on here for a while. Numb rays are all over the flats of middle harbour... once caught one on a plastic probably the poorest fight of all time.... I've also seen them eating fortescues..... cheers
