  1. Hi Raiders, Just got back from a top experience of a lifetime. It was our annual trip to Darwin to chase some barra and escape the cold sydney weather . it took as 3 1/2 days to drive from sydney to Darwin and 4 days on the way back. we took 2 boats both quintrex explorer trophies, perfect for the billabongs. We fished all the billabongs in kakadu National Park, these included Red Lilly, Bucket and Alligator, Yellow Waters, Mardigal and Jim Jim Billabongs. The Billabongs of the Mary River System including Carroborre, Shady Camp and Hardies Lagoon. We caught close to 300 Barra with around 50% being above leagal 55cm size. this was a good effort fot this time of year. last year at the same time we caught half as much. The biggest for the trip was an 87cm 26 pounder . She was caugth in Hardies Lagoon on a Nils Master Speardhead. we would have caught 30 fish from 70cm to 87cm which was a great effort. We caught plenty of fish during the day and night. most of our success was on little lucifers and Spearheads. Ill try to attach some photos i may need some assistance???
  2. Hi guys had a slow day on the bay on monday went out mid morning caught a few yakkas, and the excitment started. we were at monalox point (spelling) when the kings started to come at us working the surface. i casted my poper at them and saw a big king have a go at it but no hook up (Not happy). anyway they didnt stay long waited all day for a big whiting 40cm thats all whats the best way to rig a live yakka, what hooks and sinka if needed so i dont get it wrong and can get some more hook ups next time thanks guys PS some links to rigs would be awesome its heaps easier when you see it rather than trying to picture it
  3. It was a great 2 hour session held in tarben creek at hunters hill on the 4th of November. we walk down to the water hoping to land a couple of bream on soft plastics. we had a small period of time to fish due to pre made commitments made by mum first cast i hooked up to a mid 30cm flatie we ended up with 2 flathead 2 good size whiting 2 small bream and a couple of toad fish all thrown back we had a great day. a big surprise for the fairly dirty Tarben Creek
