Yes Formosan we are lucky we have a trawler on the hawksbury so we are there every day of the week, just check the bays for the hairtail fellow raiders they are their and I can only talk through personal experience but I find them bigger also

Nice catch and well done, fellow raiders don't be fooled Thinking you won't catch hairtail , thru the warmer months we work the hawksbury every day and my best catches of hairtail have been over the Xmas break good luck and right lines

Finished another day yakking at Swansea got 7 flathead 4 leatherjacket 3 whiting all released, no bull sharks sighted sorry guys no pics

Thanks guys went for a quick flick near the caravan park, just got a few little bream which have been released, sorry no pics as yet thinking of doing a night yak mission around Swansea bridge sandflats

Hi fellow raiders, have taken a last minute getaway up the central coast to mannering park I have brought along my good old faithfull kayak, had some family staying up the park so thought mmm gram the hubby n kids so off we go, first time here, can any fellow raiders help us out with some fishing locations from the kayaks, PM me if need be we will be here for 4 days so would like to get as much fishing in as possible.. Nice report mate, the hawksbury is full of life regardless of what people say , we run a business on that river and I can tell you the river is full of healthy fish , well done

Well done it is a great catch, just for everyone else, to catch hairtail around xmas is not uncommon i have caught them around the new year period in years past, just try for hairtail over the xmas break dont change any tactics and you will be pleasantly suprised ....good luck all

Hi Dave, you won't get ripped off of you insist on going out past the outa reef into the deeper blue water, whoever you go with check n double check that's where they will take you don't fall for them saying the fish are in the Inclosed waters, I got ripped off like that...... Good luck

Hi raiders going up to spend a week with my brother inlaw with the hubby, the brother inlaw ain't much of a fisho can get hold of a 12 foot tiny with sounder, does anyone know of any productive spots, to catch barra or Jew, gps spots would be appreciated I'm so looking forward to it any info would be appreciated Tight lines all Ange

I just came back from Fiji on Sunday, and yes I got ripped off, after speaking to a lot of locals you have to go out past the reef don't let them suck you in by saying the fish are in close !!!!!! Their is a big tournament starting the 15th July I think from memory, before I left a 15kg Mahi Mahi was landed it was in the local paper I stayed at sonasali resort

Oh and hey juggs, was that you out at WB a couple of Friday nights ago ? I had been to another spot caught my hairtail and stopped by WB on the way back to the ramp about 9 pm all I could see from cottage point was something lit up light daylight thought it must have been a UFO on the water catching hairtail.....???????

C'mon guys all you need to do is catch the fish before 10 pm then head home for a sleep and be ready for the next evening : )

Defishent I went out again last night,landed 10 lost at least 15 id be getting out ASAP they should be around for a bit,its crazy though theres a place i fish a bit and i caught a couple of big hairtail at xmas time just gone, so they have been around for a bit....

have caught many over the years and have not seen them as big and thick as this year, only got one photo of the first two caught.....
