  2. Hey Guys THAT IS ONE VERY INTERESTING FLATHEAD!! In all my years of fishing I have never seen a flathead like that!!!! And yes I have seen the sick ones in Lake Mac Suggest 1. Malnourished, not likely as the atrophy of the flesh along its length is inconsistant. It appears healthy until it reaches half way down the tail section. 2. Could be a random genetic variance within the species? Possible but not likely within just one individual, though there may be others around. 3. The more evil would be the dioxin contamination within the parramatta river and harbour system. The chemical has the ability subvert or to modify genetic memory. Studies on species in Homebush bay leading up to the Olympics revealed the same. Information on those studies are available from them. I reckon 3!! If the fish is still available or any part of it suggest submit for analysis to the techno heads Results would be interesting Trapper Tom
  3. G'day Fishraiders. Have been researching some fishing holidays in NT. Came accross a web site for Crab Claw Island just west of Darwin. Just wondering if anyone has been there or has any reports. Looks very interesting. Many thanks Trapper Tom
  4. That is one of the best bream I've seen in years Massive and congrats For interest and the other posts, ie 4.1 K etc as the record, I remember the Swansea Hotel at Lake Mac. 25 years ago They had a stuffed bream on display that was big enough to chew your arm off. Can't quite remember the weight but definately bigger than 4.1 Does anybody remember. Would appreciate posts from anybody who can remember. If not post query and I will research the matter further and track down where Mr dead fish went and how much it weighed. Trapper Tom
