We are off to the FAD at Broken Bay. Warm currents, plenty of baitfish and good weather are good reasons to be optimistic. Has anyone been out recently??? Any reports would be much appreciated. Flute

That's a beauty. I saw one similar size being thrown back in Berowa waters. Funny the guy looked a lot like you (without the beard) and he had a tear in his eye. Was a watershed moment for him I think... Flute

I agree re comments above. I have given the Pittwater a serious go over the last few months with only 1 to show for it. Mind you the one I caught (no joke) was missing one eye!!! I think the squid situation is part of the problem. I dont ever recal it being so hard to catch a squid. Too hard spending 2-3 hours for 2-3 squid. I recall last year always getting good results when chaising the sqewid. Thinking of jumping ship and fishing the harbour. Flute

Roosterman, Gave Pittwater a work out afternoon and evening but with no success. Spent 2-3 hours looking for squid. Managed to get a few but they are very small. Maybe we will get a late run on the squid? Dunno it has been almost impossible to get squid in the Pittwater. Trolled the squid on the west side some surface action and a few on the sounder but no takers. Went to the highway but nothing. Another tough day on the Pittwater. Thinking of re-naming the Pittwater the Mediterranean. Another stretch of water with no fish. Flute

Have been outside (Long Reef, West Reef) recently for mixed success. Lots of bait in the water (slimies) but very few signs of bigger fish. Though with the big swells at the moment might have an early morning session in the Pittwater. Any reports? Have the squid returned - this seems to be the key. Was at Scotland Island early the other day and saw plenty of surface action. I notice even Pete Le Blanc (fishing charter) has not updated his report since November - not a good sign. Look forward to responses.

Do you think the squid have been affected by the commercial fishing? I dont recall them being so hard to catch. Had one good weekend for kingies last 3 months. That's it. F

Anyone have any success on the Pittwater on Saturday? Briefly on the water. Had no success trying to get squid, nor trolling some SP's. F

Many thanks.... Have caught some squid recently at the northern end of Scotland Island. Saw quite a few boats trolling the western side of Pittwater. Will give it a go. Hope the weather holds up.

Out on the Pittwater tomorrow to search for kingies. Anyone had any success recently?? Tips for locating squid (hard to find at the moment) Have tried the highway without success recently. Again, any recommendations. Cheers
