What about Knights with Brian Smith
  2. We used the beach ramp both days as the river ramp was to low in the morning. Launching and retrieving was pretty good except for sunday arvo when the wind was up Apparently funds are been raised to redevelop the beach ramp, but the one that faces side on to the open sea. Good to hear facilities are going to be improved, but in a decent swell/wind, retrieving boats would really be a pain in the arse.
  3. The best reddies were about mid 40's, rest were around the the mid-high 30's. Just before the wind picked up I threw a sp on the patenoster rig, caught a nice mowie on it and a few just under snapper. I recon it would of worked on the reds if the wind stayed down. The flatties werent of great size, prob around the 40cm mark. Thanks Tony, will send a pm through over the next day. Appreciate that
  4. Hey All Fished off currarong for the first time out of a 5m haines on the weekend. Both days we trolled yakkas early looking for kings at the rocks and out of the banks, but didnt get any strikes at all. Pretty disappointing but hopefully they should be on in a few more weeks. After trolling we had a bottom bash both days out at a spot near the banks, saturday saw 2 reddies, 2mowies and a flatty. sunday saw a good catch of a dozen reddies and a good sized mowie. Would of bagged out but the wind picked up. The other boat we were fishing with also got a assorted feed of snapper mowies jackets flatties trevally and a couple others. Overall great spot, got a good feed without to much fuss, cant wait for the water to warm up to give them kings a go. Cheers Shaun
  5. Gday All, We went for a evening/night fish after work yesterday. By the time we knocked off work, got the boat ready etc, we didnt end up launching till 5:30/6:00. Went straight to the spot coral tree's and anchored up. My mate (see pic) through his line out immediately while we were rigging up, and somehow managed to catch this ripper of a fish. We couldnt believe it, especially when a bloke at the ramp fished all day without a bite. But after that, with heavy burlying we failed to catch anything else. We had a few half arsed bites here and there, and a few little choppers in the trail, but that was it. Still was a great night out, and hope to do it again soon Cheers Shaun

    Joey

I believe 2 games is more then enough punishmentfor Joey. The officials stuffed up (again) and as a result the match result was not completed in a fair manner. Who knows, Newcastle could of got another set of six and failed to score, and still lost the game in the same score. As for the swearing, I believe it can be justified, due to blatant mistake made by the touch judge, yes it was less then 5m in front of him. The game was in the 79th minute, on edge where any team could of won. Overall the game was a very important one, as a Knights win would of probably cemented them as 3rd, with a home semi final and almost certaintly a second chance come semi time. Now due to that error, who knows they could end up 8th. Alot of points have been raised about the younger generation, and setting an example. I totally agree with this point, but mind you im sure if you were a child spectator at the game you would of heard alot of swearing towards the officials, not only from Johns. The touch judges these days have alot to answer for. They seem to miss obvious calls all the time, and when they do interrup, the ref has to pay their call, even if it overrides his call, whom is correct the majority of the time. Im 100% positive every rational spectator at the ground on friday wouldnt of minded waiting for 1 replay, maybe 15seconds, in order to get the correct decision. It was the 79th minute, time could of been called off, the correct decision would of been made, and everybody would be happy. One last thing about yet another fine to a coach for comments made within a post match conference. Players and coaches are sick of dodgy ruling's by officials, raise their points in a interview, and end up getting fined. Absolute joke. PS: Anybody see Carney's offside in the Canberra Tigers Match. You cant tell me he was onside.
  7. The hulls should be very similar as quintrex owns stacer
  8. No overalls, only average size
  9. On bait, dont know the rest of the details except it was at Berowra creek and was massive. He said he catches them pretty regulary, last yr he was either winner/runner up in the fishing classic.
  10. Gday All Went out for a 3.5hour session on the tinny today at Berowra. Hit the moored boats first, 3rd boat pull in a good starter, 30cm bream. Next cast pull in a just legal bream. Threw him back as I thought we could do better as the day progressed...but I was wrong Got a few more bites after the last bream, but it all slowed down by 8:00am. Tried alot of moored boats, several banks here and there but could only manage a few pesky tailor. The tidal movement really slowed down, and I think this was why the fish shut down, not enough run in the water. Anyway a fellow old bloke at the ramp only caught 2 bream, didnt make me feel to bad, especially when he showed us the size of the jew he caught a few weeks ago 29kg Anyway Cheers Shaun

    Berowra 30/6

Pretty sure the crabs are black crabs, at least they look black We just got them from the shoreline under rocks that are exposed at low tide, and covered at high tide. Will take a photo of some next time
  12. Gday All Took the tinny out for a spin today with Big Banana to Berowra. Got in early while the tide was low and got a handful of crabs for bait, few decent sized ones We then preceded to fish the moored boats near the ramp, Joe Crafts Bay, Oakley Point, Calabash Bay and back to the moored boats. Only picked up 2 legal bream both on crabs, with a handful of small bream and tailor. Nothing notable on the sp's either. Fishing overall was fairly slow. The fish below was taken by Big Banana at the moorings right at the end of day, on one of the biggest crabs. Overall good to get out, still figuring out how to effectively fish these crabs. Cheers Shaun

    Berowra 18/6

    Yeah they were.
  14. Gday All, Been ages since ive posted, and havent fished in ages aswell. Went to Berowra with the old man today for a bit of a fish. Went straight to calabash bay to see if we could find any bait on the sand flats at the low tide - no luck whatsoever. Had a flick with sp's around calabash bay and another bay to no avail. Went back towards the ramp and fished some moored boats-ended up pulling in 2 keepers early , but after a while it slowed down. Went to a rocky shoreline to see if i could find some crabs - woohoo first time ever I find them . Only small ones (20c piece size) Mucked around here and there with the crabs as bait near the shoreline, only a few small breambo's. Overall not the best day out, but found the knack of getting crabs. Just have to figure out to effectively fish them with the right tide. Cheers Shaun
  15. Great Report there Kevvie. I fished berowra few weeks back, and the fishing was pretty quiet with plackies, but I did manage a 35cm bream in Calabash bay, along with some younger models. Any specific tricks in catching those crabs, as they obviously seem to do the trick when sp's are quiet Cheers Shaun

    Patonga 26/1

POGO: I was fishing in the actual Patonga Creek where the trawlers cant get to, and in a matter of fact most boats due to the size of the entrance.

    Patonga 26/1

The crowds at the caravan park would definately make a difference. Heaps and heaps of kids swimming, making a large amount of noise. The poddies were caught just on the sand flats as you wade out, about in 20cm of water. Weekend session sounds allright, maybe on Sunday I might try that tip for next time tyrone, but I think it may have been dead aswell. Plus there was a million people on the beach aswell. This is the first time Patonga creek has really failed me aswell. Cheers Shaun
  20. Gday All, Havent posted in a while, but am still regulary viewing the site. Here we go anyway Hit Patonga today on the day off. Low tide was due to change around 6-6:30pm at our spot, so we fished the usual 3 and 1/2 hours before the change. We got some poddies for bait fairly easily, but couldnt really convert them into flatties. Only 1 keeper and 2 undersized for 3 people. Lost a real good flatty due to poor hook tying. Tried the usual array of soft plastics that always seem to work there, but no enquires at all, which had me very puzzled. Not the best day out, but still cant complain fishing on a wednesday. Cheers Shaun

Ive found a model on Campbells but not sure if it is the biggest after reading some posts: Plano Stowaway 3700 (4000). 35cm x 23cm x 4.5cm. Up to 24 compartments Ive hijacked some previous photos on the site by other members just wondering what size there ones are. Bill S Hooky I think I read somewhere they are size 4200 ? If so who stocks them? ABA? Thanks, Shaun

    Live Well

Just one question about your livewell Joe. Is the water constantly pumped in and out (from the overflow) in order to recirculate the water, enabling the fish to survive?
