  1. If you enlarge the picture, thats us the far left of the picture telling the lifeguard we got one diver, and taking off
  2. Just doing what everyone else would of done... Well actually the guy we picked up, he was absolutely exhausted, we had to pull him in. He was on our floor trying to catch his breath while we unhooked his tanks and equipment and helped him up. Gave him a hot cup of tea and he was alright. Anyone else witness it or heard anything about it ? Brad
  3. Hey not to sure if this is the right place to post in the forum... But was anyone else out fishing out wide of cronulla sunday around 9.30ish and witness the sharkcut boat capsize ? not sure what type of sharkcut it is but around 23ft, had 8 divers, all out diving then the person on the boat was waving other boats around down, the transom started going down then the whole boat started sinking from the transom untill the boat fliped. Dont think anyone got injured. Fast response from the lifeguards and rescue team with maritime. We picked up one diver drifting away from the group towards the rocks, and lifeguards and rescue team picked up the rest. BUT VERY FAST response from the boats fishing around the area. Good Stuff If anyone was fishing in port hacking, they would of seen us driving with the rescue boats with their sirens on ?? Old haines hunter V19C white sides green top. Everyone probaly thought we were in trouble being escorted back by the yellow maritime or rescue/lifeguards boats lol.... but really we had one of the divers on board with us and taking them back to wallys wharf. Asking if anyone else witnessed the boat capsizing ? Anyone know the reason behind the boat capsizing ?
  4. Whos heading out sunday ? The forecast says windy but still should be alright. If it gets unbarable just look for shelted spots. If any raiders are heading out i'l be in a old haines hunter V19c white hull green cabin Say hi if u see us
  5. woow, thanks that was a long read... Im more after places where they can do it for me, because sounds like quite abit of work needs to be done for a good job, and the environment im doing it in isnt suitable for painting. I read that antifoul doesnt need to be applied if its a trailer boat, correct? Any good places to get this done? Thanks again
  6. Awesome catch there, would of been a excellent day out fishing
  7. Well done there, what did you catch the flatties on ?
  8. Hey guys, Where do you guys suggest I get my leg repainted, The paints just starting to come off on a few parts of the leg. I would like to get it painted before corrosion starts My area is around earlwood, so the closer would be much better. Thanks in advance guys
  9. it would be good to have an extra 60-100L We found some room in the boat to fit them, But would rather someone else fit them and connect them to the fuel lines, so much easier ahah
  10. Hey there, I'm in the market for fitting more fuel tanks to our Haines Hunter V19c We looking for more tanks, because we got the boat to go out wide, everything has been set up, we just need more fuel We only have a main 80L tank, and a spare jerry can 20L Our engine goes through petrol when you really push it, but if you cruise at around 3000rpm its fine So if anybody knows contacts, could you let me know Thanks
  11. we went out few weeks ago and brought home a feed of jackets, we found out that they actually went for our sivels, which were gold in colour... when we found out we didnt use sivels just tie the main line to leader, and had no bite offs after that besides ocassionaly bite off just at our hooks
  12. ive got a 3.5m sea al with trailer no motor for sale $700 just needs a touch up job in middle where it leaks, cheap fix
  13. I would love too, but seeing as I was in a morning rush, i forgot the camera at home, and my phone was half dead not capable of taking photos.
  14. Long time reader first time fishing report post. Got to the boat ramp at 6.30am still abit dark, I noticed everyone was rushing to get out on the waters. So we joined in the rush. Got out first spot molinux(spelling?) and started fishing. Their was 5 of us on the boat, we reeled in to check our baits, one flounder happened to be on one of our lines, nice flounder. Then 2 minutes later one rod goes off, didnt seem like a big fish but was a descent pull. Turned out to be the mother of the first flounder, maybe around 50cm, kept them two. After about 30 minutes we decided to pull lines in, and head out of the heads on such a nice day. We then had two octopus on two different lines, let one go, and kept one for bait. We head out and see a carpark, well boatpark on the south head, just out of it. We decided to anchor and join in. Within 2 hours we had 4 sweap boated, around 750g each. We thought we should head more to the edge of the head. We then started chuck and pull for about 2 hours, boated 12 more sweap and let undersized go. Got a descent pull, line peeling off, i thought it to be a king, but as we got it in the boat, we was a very nice trevally 60cm? Kept that, and started to pull up small rock cod, wrasse, pariot fish, and other species that i really had no idea what it was, but my fishing partners did and said top eating. We kept the pariot fish and the unknown but let the undersize rockcod and wrasse live on. After the two hours, we moved in the bay for lunch, then wanted to find some bream, as we were getting sick of catching the same species. Headed to HWO to find one boat, anchored, stayed for 1 hour to find not a single bite. Decided to go the the 3rd runway. Hanged around there for another hour or so we be catching pinkies and one 26cm bream. Kept the bream and decided to call it a day. Headed back to the ramp to find that our 4wd had a flat battery, left the lights on in the morning. So had the boat on the trailer but couldnt start the car to pull it up, pulled out the jumpstarter and that was dead too. Asked around for anyone with jumperleads or a jumpstarter, no one had anything. Called a mate to come down, then got the 4wd started and pulled the boat out. As we pulled the boat out, my mate had to jumpstart about 2 other cars with lights left on. See what the morning rush does to people haha. Top day on the water with beautiful conditions, and had dinner supplied for sunday night. Planning to head out of port hacking Saturday morning, two boats of us heading down the coast. Anyone else will be out there?
  15. Ok guys, we had the engine warm in the yard, then stopped it. We then tried to start it, the problem occurred. We then tried to turn the motor over with the ratchet, couldn't. It was like jammed But we could turn it either way for about 1/4 of a twist before we will hear a clicking sound and stop. It hit us, the starter motor jamming up. We then took the starter motor out, tried to turn the engine over, and BOOM the engine spun freely Thank god for that its only a little problem. Well when we looked and inspected the starter. it was very loose, like a bush was missing right at the end, just after where it is on the flywheel, there will be a bush that is after that to keep it aligned. Well that was missing so alot of free play. Our diagnosis was that the starter motor was jamming up against the teeth after a run, and then the starter motor could turn over the engine as it was jammed, there fore sounding like a siezed engine. What we dont know, is how it would get unjammed after awhile? However this time when it got jammed, it stayed like that until we took the starter out. Looks like no boating for tomorrow Our motor is still running very strong, and only this little problem as set us back. Thanks heaps guys for all the advice and help Just to confirm it, is a bush suppose to be at the end of a starter motor ? Because nothing was there making the shaft have alot of free play...
