  2. Nice work. Years ago on a family holiday in Fiji we set out on a fishing trip and ended up with a big fat donut.

You've got some highly sought after fish there. Dolphins, YFT and the great marlin. Must have had a blast!

if you go back to FIJI let me know Ill put you on the fish mate.
  3. Awesome Sean! Did they charge you extra for the extended trip? Almost 3hrs on a rod and reel is not for the faint hearted or limped wristed for that matter. Top effort champ! :)

  5. Had a awesome day and a bit sore the next day... It was so sad that she died towards the end of the fight.. but if ithad of been a full day charter it may not have happened.. we worked the fad untill we headed for home and hooked up on the way back in only about 2 km from the headland :clapping:

  6. Vanuata Holiday and just had to get out there for a fish.. Stewie said ' Don't waste your time doing a 4 hour charter" but time is limited so here you go Stewie....

Great weather, great people and even the owner said .. the same thing... you cant catch a marlin in a 4 hour charter....?

Well, they didnt come fishing wit Ratu Sean before....

Worked the fad and landed 4 Mahi Mahi, 1 Waahoo and yellow fin .. then on the way back in trolled for Marlin.... then only a few km's from the headland off she went.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

After 2 3/4 hours later unfortunatly she died in the fight but I had a BLUE MARLIN

    Caught: Vanuatu

    37kg line

    black skirt Lure

    2 3/4 hours to land

  7. Thats easy, you just pay the bill when it turns up. No inspection required

Do you have a preferance for the 14inch? I have some 13 in with LT tyres on mine

regardless on wieght, all dual axle trailers must have inspection every year but most inspections dont check chassis and brakes

  8. Hi yarraone, will be watching with interest as I have a trailer boat combination I feel has been missmatched. I could be wrong but I always have trouble driving the boat back onto the trailer, always wants to bugger off to the left about 1/3 the way on the trailer. You mention about the wheels being to small for the size of the boat. How would you know if the wheels or any other part of a trailers are correct for the size of the boat if you only have the basic knowledge of trailers.

    Thanks Alan

Your boat always going to the left isnt always the trailers problem more than the alignment of the rollers and technique that you use.. i will post more progress photos this weekend and then next week with the finish

Depending on the size of your boat, 13" are fine with the LT tyres.. This boat in question is over 2 ton

  10. Just because your trailer has wheels under your frame doesn't mean it is suited for the job...This is a work in progress of a refit and upgrade...

This trailer is a members first boat and shows one of the lesson's some people learn about our great past time...

This trailer has been put together from 2 differnt trailers not built to do the job but to cut corners and put the boat on the road..

These small boat wheels are not suited to this size boat.

The sub frame that holds the complete suspension is attached only by 4 u-bolts, and is stuffed..Brakes were not working and had towing issues.....

So to help a member out we are going to do a refitand rebuild of frame and chassis.

    Strengthen overall frame.

supply and fit the complete suspension, disc brakes 14" light truck wheels. With 2 ton rated boggie axles and bearings

Should be finished this week... More photo's will follow with the progress

  11. hi Yarrone - what weight do the tray back conversions come in at ?

Depends on what spring rating and extras, but the one pictured came in at 240kg, with a heavy duty RHS chassis.. So this means it doesnt need brakes or pink slip each year.. and rego is only $65 per year and has 1 ton rated springs & axle... I will also be doing a ute tub conversion , but sometimes these come in a little heavier and will need brakes...
