  1. I am planed to head into MH in a tinnie... but I'll see what happens.

have the kingies left MH yet? have i missed the start of the season?

hopefully i can get some luck up after last time droping 3 :1badmood:

  2. G'day mate.

We used to get livies right in close at the front of Quakers Hat. Good deep water right into the shore.

Yakkas & small slimies are usually there. It's worth throwing out a livie while your getting your bait as well. We've got some nice Jew & Kings from the shore there. Also there are always Kings busting up around the moorings in Quakers Bay itself in April so you may not have to go far to find the fish.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Grant.

very true quakers hat is a very good spot for them. although i have tryed for a king/jew there havent got one just 2 eels :1badmood:

    good luck mate.

  3. First yes it does make a difference pushing a load.

although u should be able to go faster then 4 knots, sounds like your boat is allergic to water :1prop:

it probably only needs a tune. my brother had the same problem. it would run perfect out of water then die when we got it to the water.

    good luck

  4. hey guys

my brother has just fixed his boat and is ready to go although... the trailer is goooooooooooooooooone

does anyone know or have a trailer to fit a 15ft fibreglass boat for around a grand?

p.s i put it in here so someone might look at it...

    cheers

  5. Mate..this is much better than a blackie. It's a brown groper. must put in a lot of fight with it. where did u catch that?

i got him at chowder head but i know a secret spot where ive caught a few of them... do you eat them cause i just put him back. it was a nice fight a few runs and a few head shakes. The salmon fought really well too.

i had a picture of the flaties but my phone got wet :mad3:

    tight lines

  6. hey raiders

my mate called me up friday night seeing if i wanted to go for a fish. having nothing better to do i took up on the offer.

it turned out to be a good day 2 flaties 1 blackfish (i think) and a salmon haha

the blackie at 42cm and the salmon at 58cm

( i dont usually land base fish although it was fun)

  7. Its a metal jig that you would normally use jigging for kingfish on offshore reefs but without the hooks you can just use it as a weight on a downrigger-go into a tackle shop and look for the heaviest jig you can find and use that-it'll help as well in the way it looks like a fish so should grab a kingies eye

    Josh

    alright thanks mate....

might see you around with decs or sometihng haha

    cheers

  8. Just measured and its 21'?

its an old and real heavy boat. and been out of water for 3 years now

but ive finished putting on a flow coat on the deck

and just have to lay the carpet and do some 2pac painting but we'll probably get someone to do that for us haha

let me know if the prices or whatever change or you get in something that will suit our boat.

    cheers thanks mate

  9. Thanks mate...

that was my dad on the phone im trying to push him into buying one being the keen fisherman i am haha

yeah its an old cruise craft i think 550 or 600. i measured the transom the other day and its actually 21' if that opens anything up.

to rebuild the transdom what would be the cost we are lookin at

    cheers mate

  10. :Funny-Post:

    Very funny....but very true!

20kgs is nothing to worry about in the whole scheme of things. When you fill your bait tank up at the back of the boat do you think twice about that? I didn't think so.

A live bait tank will add more then 20kgs to the transom and nobody notices the difference whether its full or empty. My bait tank is 70L =70Kgs and I don't notice a bit of difference in performance in my boat which is a 5.5 Seafarer (130hp Yammie) very similar to the Cruisecraft 550 Explorer.

Have a look at the Direct Injected Evinrude 135HP 2-stroke. My mate has one and its a awesome motor. Uses a 1/3 less fuel then my engine, its quiet, heaps of grunt, and low emissions. We both run out to Browns and where I use 120 litres plus, he uses about 80 litres.

    Good luck with your hunt.

Gday mate ive got a cruise craft 550 (real old) and im looking to put a 150hp evinrude etec on it

    what do you think?

i have a price on it for $16 000 for the 08 model....

what do you guys think advise?

if you know of a evinrude 150 tec cheaper then $16000 fited

    give us a shout...

(im trying to get the boat ready for the kingie social)

    cheers boys tight lines
