  1. LOL I think we have all been burkleys favourite customers lately! Good work mate, 65cm is an awesome PB especially for first time targeting snapper! Like pete said, he put you on the area and you fished it well, your persistance during the day paid off! Catch up on the water soon.
  2. It was a good day, ate well tonight! Awesome fish there Formosan, I knew it was a good one when I saw you guys fighting it, well done. Sweet, glad you could get onto a couple good reds too.! Good time at the moment...get back out there!
  3. Stonker fish mate, they do pull hard! Good to see you got the better of him.
  4. Hey Raiders, Headed out again to Bellambi with Pete (DTROJAN) and a couple others for another snapper session on saturday. We had a good day, landed 10 keepers all up, the biggest being 70cm and 4 more over 60cm. Pete worked hard trying to find fish, moving around. Tried in close then worked our way out wider and started to find more numbers. Thankfully we didnt come across any jackets that day. Used bait and plastics again. Plastics seemed to land the larger reds. I landed one red on a plastic, which was my only fish for the whole day, but more than happy with it. Pete had a cracker landing 6 of the bigger reds, with double hook ups..at times we were scratching our heads wondering what we were doing wrong. We also caught up with FORMOSAN out there and saw them land a nice red within minutes of meeting us! There were high fives all round on their boat, well done boys good work. Heres a few pics. Enjoy
  5. Johno, been there done that and know how you feel. I lost a big red at the boat, I was using a snell rig and it swallowed one hook and was chewing on the leader...got it close to the surface, saw how big it was then it bit through the leader and swim off...!!!!! Worst feeling ever, but Pete told me, you have to loose a couple big reds to land a good one...he was right. Keep at it mate, hope to see you land a few more soon. At least you have a good feed with the gummy Pete had a blinder on saturday, landed 6 solid reds, biggest 70cm...ill post a report Mike
  6. nice feed there boys, well done.
  7. Thanks Butch...WOW 12kg, that would have been a monster Red and would have pulled hard, wonder how long that was. They are certainly there at the moment! We had another good session on saturday, getting 10 all up and 4 solid reds over 60cm... ill post some pics.
  8. Well done mate, thats a cracker Jew! Goes to show all the hours and hard work you put in ends up paying off eventually, well done!

    NZ Kingies

Looks like you found kingfish heaven! Your arms must have been burning by the end of the day!
  10. Hey mate, we got the big one very early on just after sunrise about 7.30ish, then it went quiet for a little bit. Hard to give an exact time as the fish wern't really on the chew hard that day and landing fish was fairly spaced out throughout the day. but you could say we got majority of the fish probably from 9.30am till 11am and then 1pm till 2.30pm-ish. Fishing around the tide changes seems to help. Cheers Mike
  11. Hey Formosan, Yes the crazy legs worked for me, thats what I caught the big snapper on. it was fluro green in colour, stole it off Pete lol P.S sweet vid
  12. Thanks again guys, much appreciated. Yes conditions were pretty dam perfect, actually if it wasnt for the Mrs's im sure we would have stayed till after dark. Pete, I was wondering where the life jackets were secretly . You do put in alot of hours, and when your not on the water your studying your next trip... Hat off mate! Luc, yes its a serious Syd snapper, pretty cool that we can get them this big, just a pitty they are not there in larger numbers like S.A...or are they? we just have to get back out there!
  13. nice session on the plastics guys, there are some beautiful reds there!
  14. Cheers guys, for me it is a fish of a lifetime..been chasing them for a while now Thanks mate, Im sure Pete was thinking of knocking me overboard so he could claim that one...i convinced him otherwise Thats also a very nice Red there Johno, heard you guys did well on that trip.
  15. Hey Guys, Thought I'd share my PB snapper report. Headed out with my mate Pete (DTROJAN), who's had some nice reds under his belt this season so far and I was keen to do the same. Conditions were stunning, headed out at first light, and started fishing between Belambi and Wollongong. First fish of the day was this stonker Red, and a new PB for me 84cm and just over 6kgs, beating my old PB by 24cm ! Caught on a 5inch Jerk Shad, and gave me some curry on 15lb braid with 16lb FC leader and 3000 reel. There wasnt much run, so we worked hard for our days catch. Ended up with a good bag of 6 reds with a few over 60cm and a few mowies and reef fish. Caught on bait and plastics. Awesome day, thanks to Pete for taking me out and finding the fish, im stoked with my new PB!
  16. Good Work boys, always good to get the monkey off your back! Some nice looking jews there, looking very healthy indeed!

  18. Nice work boys on the EP's! Tried a few spots last saturday in Chippo, got a big fat Doughnut. Worked the morning incomming tide...could have been the new moon, but was very quiet. Although, it gave me an excuse to get some new gear and get back out there and keep persisting....hope to report a catch this month!
  19. Yes, general garden worms will work, or corn. We fish for carp in lake Burrinjuck using these baits. good luck!
  20. Mate i've seen some large carp in cabramatta creek, its quite deep in there and the water runs slow, so seems like a good place to start? Never caught any, as im usually fishing with lures. You might get the odd one, but not sure if they are there in numbers.
  21. Thanks mate, I have no excuses now!!
  22. Geez, 1 hour wait at the ramp!! im assuming Foreshore road ramp Looks like it was well worth the wait, nice feed there mate
  23. Nice work on the EP's guys, looks like a stunning day at Chippo as well!
