  1. Sounds like a great idea. Ill be in, and I can think of at least 3-4 more who would certainly be interested in sitting in on a workshop. Ofcourse, heading out on a charter would be fantastic but a workshop off a boat for knots etc I beleive would be more beneficial and have a more true focus on what say I want to learn for example.
  2. Hi Fellow Raiders, Im quite a keen fisho and we do alot of fishing inside Botany Bay chasing bream and the like over the years. We have never got into game fishing as such and would like advice on how to rig up lines etc. I have been on charters before and seen the lines platted and dacron etc, but would not have a clue how to actually rig up as such. I certainly know its not going to be something learnt over night but will need to start to muster this over the course of the next few months. I have been fortunate that a really good friends brother has an 18ft Shark Cat that never gets used and we are free to take when we want. We do have a couple of TLD25s and lures etc. which I have bought recently and know that the yellowfin should start coming off Sydney shortly. We arent looking at chasing Marlin at this stage but smaller game I could imagine would get the blood pumping. Was wondering if anyone was prepared to show or knows of any fishing clubs/schools around the Metro Sydney area that hold such events, where you can learn all the important bits and pieces that keep that fish on, and the line from breaking. Look forward to any response. Thanks
  3. Was fishing the bay on Saturday aswell and we managed to land a coulple of nice Whiting and good size bream. Little school of tailor were about on the second runway for a bit of fun aswell. As for Mol point, I think I counted about 20 boats early in the morning so steer clear from there these days. Either way, good catch. We had the reddies move in so couldnt catch another whiting as the baits didnt last long after they hit the water.
  4. Thats an interesting rig set up. I was thinking more along the lines of a running sinker. My concern is whether or not two hooks or a single. Ive has success on both, but seem to get less hits when double snells are used. I might try the lighter line approach next time I but a double snell out.
  5. I fish with a double snell hook with yakkas in Botany Bay. Sometimes I think using two hooks deters the Kings. Anyone else have this problem. I use 60pd leader about 1.5m and the gap between the hooks on the yakka is about 12cm. Maybe they can see the loop between the hooks. Couple of days ago they wouldnt touch the livies but were hitting dead baits like prawns on our lighter gear whilst fishing for trevors.
  6. Try Molineoux point as most people have suggested. At the moment the Kings are there. I found they are on the surface at the moment and mainly rats. Try flicking stick baits around. A friend went out today and got a couple at the drums. Most of the bay is holding kings pretty well at the moment. Ive fished for bream in the middle of the bay previously and been hammered by kings.
