  2. Hi LD Ther must be. I fished there many years ago and just parked my car at the end of the street. (Le Vesinet Dr) Do not go on the moorings as I once fished it and the residents called the police. (snobby bastards) Their is a small reserve right at the end. Every time I go past by boat, their are always people fishing it Last week i put the sounder on it and the water was deep ( 18m)and heaps of fish, an other good spot is Kellys Bush Park Western end very deep water (23m)and the sounder showed heaps of fish. Bedlam Piont western end at the back of Gladsville Hospital ( watch out for snags)and as above. Good fishing in all those spots. Hope that helps PeterD

    O Rings

Hi Huey Thanks for your reply. It might be the case. In future I will keep you in thought for service etc. I have had so many problems with mechanics not only with my car / boat motor. I have lost all faith in all of them. What we need in this site is a TRUE, GENUINE MECANIC WHO DOESN'T RIP PEOPLE OFF. Your contributions to this site are very appreciated as I have read them all Many thanks Peterd Thanks pelican for your advice Peterd

    O Rings

Both of the O Rings on my fuel tank leads that are in the cuppling that attaches to the out board motor were damaged and leaking fuel. I went to ####### Marine and was told that you can't buy O Rings any more . You must buy the whole unit at $45 + Gst each. Thats $100 for 2. He suggested to go to ABC bearings at Silverwater and try there. I went down there they had all sizes of O Rings, fitted them for me all for a cost of $2 for 2. They are in Vore Street. Now that is a saving!! PeterD
  5. Hi Cam I think as I said to you before that the motor has always been run with a very rich mixture. It could be all the above! However the motor was not tuned for premiun fuel and is at the moment cleaning the residue out of the motor. I would, before you spend money on it, give it a good run on normal fuel and it might come back to normal. Or it might be a good idea for its first service. The motor was always stored with out fuel in the engine. PeterD
  6. Try Clarks reserve or Pulpit Piont at Hunters Hill. The bait I use is chicken strips finely cut and soaked in plenty of parmesan cheese overnight. Bream, flathead etc love it. It out fishes convential bait. Good Luck PeterD
  7. Sorry to here that! Next time I go camping I will take my Rottweiller. He will not only eat the robbers but everything else that is not locked up. cheers peterd
  8. Hi Cam I'm installing one too on my boat. the bottom of the transducer should be 3/8" or 1/2" under the hull no more. It should be level. How is the motor going? PeterD
  9. Hi kingpin. I am not sure what fish they are , but i believe they could be mullet as it is a semi tidal saltwater lake. I will go there next week and see what they are.
  10. I live just at the back of this lake in Homebush its called Lake Belvedere. 15 years ago I pulled out 20kg of eels for a Dutch mate of mine for smoking. I left some blood on the pontoon and a few days later they put up a sign saying NO FISHING. I just used string with a piece of meat tied at the end and let them swallow it and wait till its in their stomach and pull them out, throw them in a bucket and they spit out the meat. So easy! Their is also plenty of Mud Crabs in the mangroes behind in Powells Creek. However I believe the waters are very toxic . PeterD
  11. Hi The prawns were not peeled. Last year I caught a kingie near Cocatoo Island also with prawn, using 10lb line after 20 minute fight brought him next to the boat totally exausted but I had no net, tried grab his tail but lost him. PeterD
  12. Went out with my wife for not so serious fishing today. More of a pleasure trip First stop was birkenhead point no bites at all. Waters very muddy Then toTaylors Bay where I hooked with prawns on a 1/O hook ( 2 times into somethink big I believe Kingfish) very close to shore Today was the only time I didn't bring the heavy gear!! Damm!! I was using 6lb braided line only going after bream It just took the line on both occassions for about 50-80 metres I tightened the drag slightly and it broke the line. Then went to Rose Bay, drifted for about 1/2 hour, close to shore of Shark Island caught very small flathead all thrown back. Regardless, a great day on our great Harbour. PeterD
  13. I love them, one of my favourites if cooked properly. I cut the head and tail off, season with cajun spice and olive oil, wrap them in silver foil and bake in oven. However they must be fresh and bled straight after catching them. I also love them cold. Peterd
