  1. Soccer was good 20 years ago........too many fake falls and cheaky penalties these days. They let them get away with it for too long, if i want to watch people pretend to get injured ill watch the WWF
  2. YEah i read about that one but that wasnt the Botany Flotilla was it ?
  3. How many whales and animals in general are abandoned by their mothers in the world? Would it have been crueler to let the poor thing swim half heartedtly only to be eaten alive by sharks? I think putting it down saved the poor thing a lot of grief, as there is no way it would have survived unless adopted by another pod of whales.

  6. are there any members on here that are involved with Botany Bay Coast Guard?
  7. Has anyone made some curtains for the windows of thier half cabin? IF so how did you attach them without drilling through the cab?
  8. Jet ski morons should have a set area of the bay, if any at all. LAst time i was out there a moron was going flat-stick on his wave runner, being followed by a 15ft or so ski boat, shallow hull going full stick with 4 people on board. This boat was so lucky it didnt flip triying to keep up with the ski and battle the chop at the same time. MORONS i say
  9. Thats gold, i hired a wooden half cab similar in size up at Forster/Tuncurry about 10 years ago with a 9 Hp on it, tiller steer, what a power house that was !
  10. Thanks mate, what oil ratio do you think i should be using ? 50:1?
  11. im not concerned about the age, just want it to be right on the insurance papers ! Floor is still good, and transom strong, motor runs well, its a 40EL74S. Thats the plan keep the boat and if the motor craps itself replace it later. I got plenty of receipts for services and work done to the motor so it should be good foro a while yet, old motors seem to last forever if they are looked after. Also im tryign to chase down some decals for the motor cover, any ideas?
  12. Motor is a 74, i tried looking under every crevace to find a serial number on the boat to no avail !
  13. Hi all, was wondering if any Pongrass owners here, i cant find Pongrass info anywhere, i am tryign to ID my boats year for insurance. Ive been told the last owner had it as 1997 model, but i think its 87, possibly 77 ? anyway here are some pics. Its a Pongrass Aquarius.
  14. Thanks for the advice, yeah ive never really used my old finder as a finder, more so as a depth finder, but this finder is heaps better than my last crappy one as stated it lets yoru turn the ID s off and have raw data, its a hummingbird 150sx, nothign special but better than my ebay one lol
  15. HI all was wondering how you all use your fishfinders? Do you use the Raw data feature ( shows the boomerangs) or do you use the fish id options (showing little fishy shapes)
  16. Yeah i kept him alive in my "live catch bucket" till i went home, cut his throat at the ramp, removed the head, gutted and put in the esky, has been in the fridge overnight. I heard that they are good eaten raw as sushi?
  17. Hi all decided to head out to the Bay this morning, bad decision, was nice and calm on the ramp, headed out of the cooks into the runway area and was choppy as ! Decision was made quickly to turn back and have a little go near the cooks entrance/radar tower. Within about 5 mins bang, rod is bent over, thinking its a big bream, but ive never had anything fight like this before. Anyway 5 mins of battling i wind in my first, wait for it ...Silver Trevally. Ive never eaten them, ive heard good and bad and at 40cm this one was a keeper so i guess ill soon find out what they taste like! Pic will be up shortly (crappy camera phone)
  18. Georges River to Capt Cook Bridge approx 15-30 mins (depending on chop and weather) in my 14footer with a 65 pushing her along.
  19. This has got to be one of the best ramps around, i use it all the time. Never left a car there at night though so wouldnt know, i supppose try and park near teh water or under the lights as stated. If your going there on a weekend get there before 5am cause after 5 its like the M5 tunnel in peak hour. And yes most idiots dont know its a 4 or 8 knot zone.
  20. I know what you mean, im bustign to get out this weekend but am a bit shy of teh rain, dont mind a few drizzles on and off, but until i get a half cab with a bit of shelter or a decent bimini i might give it a miss

  23. As said before head half an hour north to The Entrance and go around the bridge, plenty of spots in Gosford though, its not that big just drive aroudn and have a look.
  24. Not sure if this is the right spot but another unforunate fisherman has lost his life. A FISHERMAN has been swept off rocks to his death near a Sydney beach, police say. The man was fishing near Mahon Pool, 500m north of Maroubra Beach in the city's south-east, around 2.30pm (AEST) today when he was swept into the ocean, police said. Passers-by raised the alarm after spotting the man face down in the water. Local lifesavers on jet skis attempted to retrieve him but were unsuccessful due to rough conditions. The man's body was eventually winched from the water by helicopter. Police are now trying to identify him. Anyone with information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
