  1. i will be chasing powder days at perisher, and working every other day to save my pennies for the snow.... i'll see u guys in 6 months when its warm again! hehe

dont think i'll do much fishing, just saving money and going snowboarding at every chance! got a season pass this year, anyone else going on hols to the snow?

Well I will certainly be down there a bit this year. It is cold already so should be a good season although they say summer is coming early this year.

I am heading to Whistler at the end of the year as well !!

    Yellowfin Tuna when its time

    Cheers Stewy

When is it time for YFT?

I have only been out on charters chasing them and they did not exactly show me the ropes. I would love to pull a few into the cruizy over the coming months !!

  2. Since summer has died in the A#@ and we have lovely winter to look forward to, I thought I would take a moment to see what fellow raiders will be chasing down during the colder months.

    Will you bother going out?

Or will you just hibernate for a while?

What do you prefer to chase in winter?

  3. Whhhhhaaaaattttt???

    Dramamine is off the market.

Don't say that, they have saved me many times and I just ran out a few weeks ago.....

I wonder if any chemists have them sitting on the shelf still from old stock.

  4. Holy crap !!

That is awesome. One of the kind of stories that a mate tells a mate who tells a mate and by the end of it no one even believes it because it is just so amazing.

Now I read it from the guy first hand !! Lets see if my mates believe me

Congrats and my condolences all at once

  5. jeesh.

I didn't know it was off the shelf. I actually went there a few times on a game fishing charter and they were talking about fishing off the shelf as though it was somewhere further out.

A mate of mine always talks about Sydney Canyons as well. Is that further still? What are these canyons I always hear so much about?

    Thanks !!

  6. Nice report Sammy.

A bit of a random question. Browns is not off the shelf is it?

I just noticed that gamerod said

<<<I would not have gone to browns but after doing 3 hrs inside the shelf I was desperate.>>>

That doesn't mean he went off the shelf to browns right?

I would not have gone to browns but after doing 3 hrs inside the shelf I was desperate.

  7. Jeesh, I lost my anchor on Saturday in the bay too.

I don´t normally fish on weekends because of the crowds but I could hardly beleive what I saw on Saturday morning. There would have been 15 boats just about on top of each other all fishing for live bait. Normally I might see one or two other guys there but on Saturday I had to actualy weave in and out of traffic to find a spot. It looked like a marina.

Has it always been like that?

    Crazy !!

  8. I have been looking at some for my Cruise Craft 625 and although I don't know what one I will get yet everyone I speak to seems to say the same thing.

"Spend the money on a good one or it will break in a few months"

I can't recommend any because I haven't bought one although most people seem to think that the brand "quick" are pretty good.

  9. I used to tow my 2.2 ton Cruise Craft with a jeep cherokee and now the auto gearbox slips all the time. A few weeks ago i made the best decision ever and spent $3K on an old 60 series Diesel Toyota Land Cruiser purely for pulling the boat. I had to spend $1,000 to fix all the little bits and pieces that were wrong with it but now I have the perfect tow truck.

No more worrying about getting salt water all over the leather, or making sure it is all washed down perfectly after I get salt water on it.

Do yourself a favor and buy an old tow truck that you can trash and have a nice car that you keep nice.

When I sell the boat one day I will probably sell it with the truck !!

  10. Hill all i headed out today for my first time fishing the bay. Was on the water at 530 from Kymeeagh (spelling), headed out near the runways first, got a 45 cm flathead within 30 seconds of casting ! ! Anyway all up we got 4 keeper flatties, and 2 keeper flounders between us.

Plenty of Snapper but too small, and a few other little flatties that went back in, and a couple of whiting that we threw back.

Not bad for 1st timer on the bay !

Congrats on your first time on the bay.

I am still learning the ropes myself. There are actually a few places/schools that teach you the ropes of the bay if you look around to find them but nothing you can't learn from fellow raiders.

    Happy fishing !!

  11. Dan,

Probably best if you contact Ross or Glenn Hunter directly HERE

They would know what their bookings are like and you never know...they may just accomodate

    singles or groups of singles.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

    Fantastic.

    Thanks for that Pete.
