  1. yeah balmoral off the rocky outcrop in between the two beachs - anchor in about 3.5m of water and burley up, and soon youll be surrounded by a swarm of yakkas :-)

We went to Balmoral yesterday and had a hard time dodging the sweep at first. It seemed that was all we could bring up. We moved a few meters away from the rock outcrop in front of the net and found it much better. We still got harassed by a few sweep but managed to pull in a few yakkas as well.

    Have fun !!

  2. I know it's an old, often repeated recipe... but it works for catfish.

Put the catfish and 2 housebricks in a large pot of water and heat over a high flame. When the bricks are soft.... throw away the catfish and eat the bricks.

    Cheers, Slinky

LOL, I HAVEN'T HEARD THAT ONE. THAT IS HISTERICAL !!

  3. Hi guys.

I just wanted to add my thanks for a great day which was made even better by catching my first Kingy which Swordfisherman kindly uploaded photos of. It is actually the first time I have gone hard out targeting a1 Kingy and I waled away with one so that made me feel even better (especially since I had no sounder on my cruisy)

I met fellow raider want2fish at 4.30 at Rose Bay and we headed off into the dark to catch live bait. I have been living in Europe the past few years and before I left had not been as educated in fishing so never really went looking for livies. So I had to ask a few people where I would find some.

I had no idea what was going on.

Luckily Swordfisherman pointed me in the direction of Sammy who kindly showed us where we might catch a few squid which we did. Then we went for some yakkas at Balmorel and went in search of Kingys.

I hooked up in about 10 minutes and pulled in my first Kingy. Woohoooooo !!

A few minutes later I hooked up again but he busted off. Ah well, one is better than none. And I even got to keep him.

So once again a big thank you to all involved. Especially the BBQ team :biggrin2:

  4. Justin (Want2Fish) is of need of a spot on someones vessel as a deckie.

If you have room for one more keen fisho please post here so we can get everyone a ride for the day :biggrin2:

This has been taken care of now. he is jumping on my boat. See you all tomorrow.

  5. Thanks for the big welcome guys.

    It is much appreciated.

I will gladly put a fish raider sticker on my boat but where do I get one from? Hopefully I will see a few out on the water this weekend.

I may take a few of you up on your decki offers soon as well !!

  6. Hi everyone.

I just joined fishraider today and thought I should jump on and introduce myself. I recently moved to the Sutherland Shire and have just started to fish Botany Bay since it is local me now. I used to fish the harbor. Hopefully I will learn a thing or two here and maybe even meet some of you.

I actually attended Botany Bay fishing school to pick up a thing or two about the bay which was pretty cool. I learned where most of the regular spots are etc. So far I think I prefer the harbor =)

I have done basic fishing since I was a kid with my dad but in the last few years have got a bit more into it and ramped up the gear a bit.

I have my own boat (a cruisecraft 625 Outsider) and at times will be looking for deckies so maybe I will even catch up with some of you for a fish.

    Happy fishing everyone.

    :1fishing1:
