  1. Shame about the fish mate.

Jewfish feed anytime of day, as do most fish although they are more active during certain types of the day. I find Jewfish are more likely to be caught on the fast moving tide periods, such as withing the couple hours either side of high or low tide.

I hope this helps in going back to catch the ones that got away :)

  2. congrats dave on you boys taking out two sections

and ONAKING ,what do you mean we didnt turn a reel ,your forgeting that something that ate my bait jig ,that had the reel turning, turned long enough to get to the bottom ,lol,oh and that huge kingfish you caught

    cheers arman

Oh Yeah .. i forgot about that monster that straightened your heavy guage bait jig lol

  3. fished the yellowfin comp down batemans bay ..... weather was ok with a howling norwester sunday .. domanator caught a 70 plus sunday but missed the weighin .. i fished on mad 1 with alex and skipper mick, we managed afew fish with alex catching a 24.5 yf on 10kg plus a 108kg mako on 10kg . we released over 10 yellowfin and albies without tags as the tag bag went missing in transet :05::05:

all in all great comp . congrats to team dominator on the luckyladies great captue ..

    Great day Dave...

Tell Alex he is soft 108kg on 10kg cmon Arman and i would of used that for live bait lol :tease:

Na all good congratulations sounds like a top day ... we didnt manage to turn a reel on saturday ..

  4. Hey Greg,

Long time no post or speak!

Good to see your still getting into some fish, although not the yellowfin i know your absolutely hanging to catch on NEXT, still a great way to kill time.

So have you been out fot the fin yet..

  5. Mate just alittle....lol

It's always good to try something different and i can say i had a ball, the good thing about breamin is you dont need to travel so far away and your nearly always garrenteed a fish, unlike deep sea fishing. :1prop:

Haha yeah i get what your saying..

I still need to get out with you and learn some of the top secret Bream techniques you have been hiding lol

Again great fish, I'll catch ya soon

  6. Mate Pat was the keenist fisho on the trip, maybe a little to keen for the partiers of the group. One day we even had to palm him off to another boat just so the rest of us could try catch up on some sleep!

A 10 day benda just takes it out of you, especially when you try to include a decent fish every day!

The boat has passed all I can throw at her and I am truely happy with it. I have put it into conditions that I would have turned around and gone home in, if I was in any other boat. At 28ft she seems long enough to make the distance between chop there fore giving a smoother ride and not dropping between waves. We have drifted some snapper spots in conditions that most of the fleet have not even left the docks for and didn't even cop a wave over the back.

The best investment (around $3k) are the padded combings. Bloody sensational and really does save the body from banging into the sides and having bruised legs for the next few days!

    Fuel consumption.

The whole trip up to Broughton from Rushcutters and then back into Port we used just over 350lts with a speed average of over 34kns. Pretty good I thought especially for the speed. The boat was total full in fuel and water plus all the gear and luggage that the group needed for 10 days. She was choca block!

Threw out the trip and in all the varied conditions there was only 1 day where we had to travel at less than 30kns and that was only because we were heading straight into a strong swell and wind. Most days travelling up to Seals and back with moving around all day we averaged about 170lt but the best thing we were there in 40mins from the dock!

First day of the tournement we gunned it to the Gibber to get baits, we'd have a full tank of bait before the first competitor arrived.... Speed is good!

    So yep, very happy!

It's fast, quiet, excellent sea handling and just amazing how fresh you do come off the water, usually I'm totally ratted out from a day out at sea.

    Regards

    Greg

Good to hear the boat has met and exceeded all expectations

As for Pat lol ... maybe next time you should think of slipping some sleeping pills in his drink lol

Can't wait for the yellow fin to turn on.. that will give your boat a good workout

    Joe

  7. Hey Greg,

Shame about no marlin dude, :05: but at least you got to put the boat through its paces and get into some nice reds.

How did the boat go, was it as good as you expected ride and fuel wise?

Hey just quietly i think pat has become a bit of a bad luck charm when it comes to catching fish lol :074: Sorry Pat

    Cheers,

    Joe

  8. Hi Fisherboy,

Congrats on so many fish ... must feel awesome.

Mate i am by no means trying to put you down or cause a drama, but just to inform you the legal size limit of Kingfish has gone up from 60cm to 65cm as of a few yrs ago..

Just be mindful of this and keep fishing hard..

    Cheers

  13. OK OK I am going to re-open the most talked about rivalry in any anglers life... the battle between DAIWA and Shimano, who is better and why?

I personally am a fan of DAIWA and believe the advancements in their gearing and components have come a very long way in the past few years and have left shimano behind. Dont get me wrong shimano make some great reels (stella) but i still feel DAIWA is just that one step ahead at all times in creating such powerful reels in such a finesse body.

I would love to hear all your feedback.

    Cheers

  14. Cmon Arman,

Enough fish .... the stocks are depleeting and i think the yellow fin are hurding up to discuss wether it is worth the risk staying off browns while Mr Magoo is present ...

    Your on fire lol

P.S tell Reece to watch out for those BURGERS!!!! :1prop: lol
