  6. Well Done to all involved, that's a nice fish. The water out off sydney looks sensational and is only going to get better, this is going to be a great season. That's a old school harness, thought I was the only one left that owns one. Cheers Mike

  8. You have some nice fish there mate, and your mates snapper is a ripper. What did the snapper weigh? Cheers Mike
  9. Went out thurday and found a few dollies in various places under fish traps, floating timber.Managed to raise and hook one beakie but must of had a nick in the line and lost the fish. Also saw a sunfish and a free jumping beakie and mako, the water temp was 21 to 22.6.We only ventured a few mile past the shelf, and found all the bait was in close [40-50 fathoms].With that warm water pushing in and plenty of floating timber and fish traps everywhere I expect a lot of dollies will be caught, just hope there's plenty of bulls around. Will be out again tomorrow, good luck everyone heading out. Cheers Mike

  15. Hi Payatz,my boat fishbones is 7.5m plate boat with a 100hp yamaha 4 stroke 2006 model. The best I do trolling at around 8 knots with me and 2 crew in good conditions is roughly 1 litre per nautical mile, obviously that increases with more crew, strong winds and currents.I previously had a 130hp yamaha saltwater series 2 stroke 2005 carby model which was near double the fuel comsumption of the 100hp 4 stroke. The 100hp 4 stroke is probably a little under powered for my boat but it still does 28 knots top speed. Hope this helps. Cheers Mike
  16. Well Done on your Thumper Kings Namesay, your 100% correct about the commercial banning with big fish being caught every year not only in sydney harbour.Over the past 2 months on and off Port hacking has been producing 1m+ kings with many unstoppables too.Bring on summer and bigger fish. Cheers Mike

  22. I was out there today sitting next to the whale carcass hoping to see these sharks. Sat there for 3 hours with a blue fin tuna frame in the water with no sign of any sharks. My guess is the sharks are in the area burning of all the whale blubber they have eaten.
  23. Hi DownToFish, I bought 11 jigs in total in various colours. Pink, green, brown, clear, orange, white and silver, caught squid on all these colours. Cheers Mike
